    OFSC AGM

I think for what you get, yes, the price is way too low. However, as we have witnessed in the past, there are a large group of people unwilling to pay the true cost of groomed, signed, and insured trails.

I would pay 400 if that is even enough.

There is a shortage of funding, as such it would seem to me the expense is too high.

That is a staw man argument. Sending two people to a meeting is not the answer to the issue you have described. Increasing volunteers is never done at agm.

It is great that they now have no more excuses for spending massive amounts of money on the AGM. It was argued you could not do it remotely. Once again I have been proven correct. Never again should permit money be spent on expensive hotel rooms, meals, flights, travel mileage, and conference rooms.
  6. Most days not needed. Nice on frosty mornings when first starting out. True on the China some stuff is fine. I hate seeing people driving those Buick envisions, assembled in China with all Chinese parts. Shipped in a container....
  7. Every single heated seat element in every single vehicle is made in China.
  8. Us as well. I am done with this bs. I will no longer do anything in the name of covid. Looking at hard numbers the death rate is static for the past 5 years. This tells me we are not in a pandemic.
  9. The 2022 is better than the 2017 d15 we had, but I have no experience with a 2005. I will say the Def system sucks, had a failure on our 2021 that left us in a hotel in thunder Bay for 2 days.
  10. Our 2022 tractor running a Detroit 15 liter burns about 35l per 100km southern ont to man border, 30 in the prairies, with 45k lbs in the box. An old school cat would be at least 50 % more. New tech is all about burning less fuel.
  11. Today I passed one truck loaded with AC sleds, and one yesterday loaded with doo sleds. Also about 20 crates from doo in Cochrane this morning.
  12. 25 bucks on Amazon. Stainless staples and do it yourself.
  13. Whenever I look at properties, trail location is certainly a factor in whether or not it would be even a consideration. I too wish the itg was available for just that reason.
  14. I was only there once. Back in 2003 I think. We kept talking about going that way again and never did. He who hesitates..........makes me think of many things we have enjoyed over the years and have talked of doing once again. I should be more determined to act instead of saying, maybe next year.
  15. the cost of everything is on the rise. Why would a permit not be effected by inflationary pressures? What needs to happen, is this. Set a price that sustains the system, then increase that price each year at the same rate as inflation. Publicise that this is the case and every permit buyer would know what the increase will be if it were indexed to inflation. If this is not done the trails are finished. This is because the current set up votes an increase in Sept, but not for the upcoming season, it has to be approved by the ministry, then takes effect the following year. We will see double didget inflation in the very near future as well as higher interest rates, and without the ability to react to rising expenses with increased permit pricing, the inflationary pressures will destroy the budget.
  16. In northern ont it is 1.39
  17. The 200 bucks is worth it for a few days riding from home. OR, even if I did not ride at all in a given season, gotta keep the trails open. Heck, I spend 1700 on insurance for 2 bikes we have ridden twice this summer and may only get out two more times on them. That is twice the price for the sled insurance and passes combined.
  18. Yes, they are worth every dime you will pay.
  19. Sled sales for textron most likely represent 0.0000000002% of gross sales. Do they care to grow it, most likely not.
  20. Costco publishes those numbers.
  21. 56 inch interior height is the only down side. I bought a blast from them which is taller and was less money. So far so good. But the sales guy was less than good.
  22. Sales numbers are nothing. They have been published multiple times in the past. No way they went through all that to do it.
  23. They sure could. As long as no personal in no was attached.
  24. There is no such law. Much like telling us how many plated cars are in the province.
