  1. Rode their trails today. Nothing limited about them. They're awesome. Mid season conditions for sure. Took off from Deep River just after noon hour today. Headed for Mattawa. A trail was great. Little chop here and there but not much. A112A from the A to Mattawa was a mogul field. Not sure why but that stretch always sucks. Gassed up in Mattawa around 3:30. Then headed north west out of town. Much better on this side of town. It was snowing good now. Took the new Mattawa trail (MA170). This is a gem. Unfortunately a good chunk of it was plowed, but with a couple inches of fresh snow didn't matter today. Followed it onto NB308 and A102Q back out to hwy 11 and the A trail. Some more plowed roads, but excellent with the new snow. Eventually hit unplowed trail and it was a 10 out of 10. I don't think I saw a bump between Mattawa and Hwy 11 at the A trail. Then headed north. A trail to Temagami had some bumps (7 out of 10). Gassed up at 6:30 and kept running for New Liskeard. Arrived in town at 10 pm. Late finish, but it was a late start today. All in I met three groomers between A102Q/A and New Liskeard so things will be better tomorrow. There is a lot less snow in New Liskeard in comparison to the North Bay area or north of the park. Still enough to make great trails, but it's thin up here. Back to the truck tomorrow. Do I double back where I know some groomers are running tonight, or jump over the border and come back down in la Belle province?

  4. Nice. Get out riding everyone. Don't let the yellow trails scare you off. Cottage country got 6" of new neige last night.

  5. How many clubs don't have a OFSC groomer available for there use. Here we are Feb 24 and still not no good answer when it's coming. I am no newbie to this crap show and the executive is going to give up. So all those that use C Trail between Pte au Baril and the Key River area don]t expect it to be open. Direct your disappointment towards the OFSC not the club. North East Georgian Bay S C District 10

  6. Has the District gone to bat for you with the OFSC? It is their job to do so and continue to pressure the OFSC if they can't find a groomer for you to use from within your district. Personally, I would like to know this has happened before going any further.

  7. So sad. When Polar Bear Riders in Cochrane went down, a new groomer from another district was there in not time. Many groomers sitting idle in the south all winter. MOVE EM!

  8. Not sure but if not park at stp lot across the lake, quick run down the trail from there leads to the lake, scoot across lake, grab gas at Rockies and head north.

  11. They collided at the top of a small hill. Spindles connected, broke the ski bolt on my bud's sled. I was in the lead and signaled the sledder that there was 1 behind me. With both sleds doing approx 80 km/hr, the impact caused my bud's sled to jump in the air and throw him. When I got back to the scene his sled was in a ditch and a couple of nice sledders were working on getting it out for him. He's currently in intensive care, they had to freeze his back (epidural?) so they can go in and drain his punctured lung. We are both 60 yrs old so we just don't recover that quickly. Also, he has a tek vest but had forgot it at home.
