From what I read it’s on in eco mode. You have to hold the break while the machine is at a complete stop to make it work. So if you pull into a stop and don’t hold the break your sled stays running. If in sport mode you set it once (on or off) and then it stays that way. So you can shut it off and forget it ever existed. It’s a novel idea. Real question is, is there a long term reliability issue from using it all the time or not. RER has proven to be very reliable. Does this work the same way saving fuel in the engine and timing the ignition to make it re-fire after a stop? Or is the starter used for the starting?
lol. There is a lot of hate for that new feature from doo. Will be interesting to see how it actually works and if it’s a feature you have to continually turn off. Or if it’s one you can choose to use by going through a simple step or two without being an annoyance when you don’t want it. Being able to talk at a trail side stop is kinda convenient. The ace engines have been great for this simply because they are so quiet.
Agreed, and we need the competition for the other manufacturers.
And they had the foresight to NOT put a start/stop feature on a snowmobile. I hate this feature so badly on my vehicles that I would not buy a sled with it. No way am I going to have to navigate the screen to shut it off every time I fired the thing up.
