Cross Border Shopping

Ya, I know this was beat to death last year, but I thought they may have learned something from it. I was a little appalled at some of the prices I saw at the show last weekend, particularily Yamaha. So I thought I would compare the Canadian list prices to the US on the net.

Yamaha Canada: 2010 RS Vector GT $14699.

Yamaha USA: 2010 RS Vector GT $10499.

Thats a full 40% difference. I don't like buying used machines, but when the time comes, I think I'll consider cross border shopping for one.

Thanks for listening to me vent.

I have priced out all the Ski-Doo accessories I need, and the savings is 35% after exchange, total. The savings will pay for my gas & hotel to go to the Novi show.

I have no idea what's made where anymore. I remember caustic comments made by some riders wondering what Mexicans knew about snowmobiles; but...... that may have just been a toss-off joke.

Can't blame you guys. I bought new sleds in Canada in 2001 and 2002. Saved about $1500 each time. That's when a new machine was $6500 US (AC ZR 800's). I have one on order now that is nearly 2X the price. Wish I could have bought this one with the same savings.
