Wildman
it's crazy, Attawapiskat looks the same, they have had the same weather!!!! I'm still riding my dirt bike in January, Justeen can't be distributing the global cooling fund properly, it's just not working, lol. My parents are in Gulf Shores Al and it is the same weather as here in the banana belt
skidooboy
Getting a little here and there. Single digit Fahrenheit temps, helping freeze things up. Ski
skidooboy
Calling for 3-5" today, that might be enough to start packing some areas. Late start for sure. It is starting to look better. Hoping the next warm up, doesn't go that far north. Ski
Ox
I just looked at the Wawa Goose a little bit ago, and it looked like they were getting decent snow today. The pic at Montreal Harbour looked like they got some snow, but no wind? Snow is just stacked there - right on the water! ??? http://users.vianet.ca/naturenorth/5.html?fbclid=IwAR3HR7cMt8xGXCjqzhiLX-CWMrZZ47OGz4xr-pmKvUidu2K_WUFAipspqEQ . skidooboy
11 hours ago, Re:Leaf said: Which lights did you use? My wife got tired of leds going out on whole strings, (this is our third time putting completely new lights on the barn), so she bought high end commercial units. You can cut, and splice the lengths, remove and add light sockets, and male and female ends for custom correct length applications. In these units, the led bulbs are replaceable too so, no more whole strings going out for no reason, and no way to fix them. You can choose the color of bulbs you want, or choose the changeable colored bulbs, with a programming module. We tried everything, fuses, replacing bulbs in every socket, etc... Nothing would get the bad strings running again. These have been pretty stellar, they have been up for 7 months, we have had 2 bulbs "go out" I tapped on them, and they came back on. She didnt even opt for the extra bright, and these are off the charts. I swear the Canadian Air Force knows when these come on, and could call the Township stating they detected a launch of some sort. LOL! They actually have a brighter bulb option. LOL! These throw a 30 foot halo around the building now. She waited until they ran a sale, and bought enough to do the barn, and then some. They regularly send her discount codes for 20% off. Ours are red and white only, we did that to pay homage to the Canadian heritage colors. It really looks good in person, many towns people tell us, how much they love what we did down there, to clean up the site, and make the barn, river area look nice. Re:Leaf
I’d like to replace the lights on my barn. Can you ask Mrs Ski where she bought the new lights from?
skidooboy
Yes, for sure, give me a few. She is a travel nurse and works surgery. I will text her, asking name brand, and where she got them. Ski
skidooboy
https://www.christmaslightsetc.com/p/500-foot-c9-commercial-light-spool-spt2-green-wire-61558.htm And bulb choices https://www.christmaslightsetc.com/p/C9--Cool-White-OptiCore-LED-Replacement-Bulbs-13604.htm#F373V332 We purchased 500 of the commercial C9 large sized opticore bulbs, extra male and female plugs, etc... choose your length, color bulbs, plugs, and go. Looks like there is a sale right now. We went with 1 foot bulb spacing. We have the entire perimeter, peaks, and corner drops covered on a 30x60 barn, costs us about 500 usd. But, we have a lot of extras to do more. This way you are buying everything separately but, getting what you want. They have 50 and 100 foot pre-mades but, unsure if they are the commercial units we have. The cool white is white white. the warm white is more of a yellow color. The wife researched, and found these, then waited for a super sale, (Christmas in July) and then bought them. now at least you have the website, and can search shop, for what works for you. Good Luck! Ski 1

skidooboy
Snow pile in the front yard is starting. It is adding up, little by little. We didn't get the big snow event Wawa and Hawk received. I heard 40" in 48 hours. We only received 4-6". That's lake effect for you. Need to go up this week, to shovel decks, walkways, and garage, barn entries. Get out there, while you can. skidooboy
What the sun didn't take, the rain is killing. It will take a week or more of very below freezing temps, and close to 2 feet of snow for us to start to provide trails, we are all used to. Unsure if our area can recover, and even open this season. We are here in Dub, and onsite, it isnt pretty all along the algoma region. Ski

skidooboy
Nothing to write home about, in the last week. We didn't get the snow the south got. Just enough to make it look white again. Another plus temp warm up for 4-5 days coming, the last days of feb, first days of march. Ski

Wasn't too long ago half way thru the towel in too much snow. So you just never know what's going to happen. Very rare dub and wawa area's don't get some good snow falls. Remember Moe's cases of beer and fake girls 😆. Good ole days.
skidooboy
Not much has changed this past week. Some snow in the forecast but, warmer temps on long-term... It wont last long. With the big orange ball out more now, the next 6 weeks, could take us right out of winter, straight to summer. I'm over this. Note the street shots... When you do come back, the town isn't as sled friendly as it once was. They heavily sand all streets curb to curb. The place looks like it is based with gravel roads. skidooboy
Sad in Dub. Looks more like late April, instead of late February, early March. Never turned a groomer track, this year. A first for our club. Wawa has closed some trails, turned everything to yellow not closed. Guessing they will close everything tomorrow, only keeping them "open" for the big fish derby access, this weekend.
