Seen a lot (10-12) headed west on 17 near Sudbury this afternoon. In about a 20 minute period. Ride on Boys!

We got stopped at a check point on the trails, there were 6 of us. No questions about where we were from etc. didnt even check our paper work!

Nice run last Friday. Plenty of fresh snow falling, lots on the trails. 114 miles round trip. Trails were very good. Groomer went by and stopped as we were having lunch. Lunch stop on intersection of C111D and 56. Great place with a nice washroom. Roasted hot dogs, some other snacks, coffee, etc. Went across Wahnapetei Lake on trail 71 on the way there... that wasn't fun with the wind, slush spots and small pressure crack.. needless to say we took C rail bed back from Capreol. Was a great day, with great people.

Wolf mountain with some friends. Great day, trails were decent. Supposed to get 10-12cm starting tonight. It is needed badly on some trails.

yea.. do not base your fun or life on what our Mayor says... think this is the only the 3rd time we've heard from him since the Pandemic started, didn't know he was still around... -
Night rides Friday and Saturday with friends. Nice Sunday ride on the rail bed by myself for some solitude. We are truly blessed to be able to enjoy such a great Sport. Railbed bed was as flat and fast. Kept it 50 or under of course...

Went about 50km last night on nice groomed trails with some friends. Clubs are doing great for the little bit of snow we have. Hitting some more later today!

Good news that the ofsc plans on keeping everything open, and grooming operations will continue.

Well, on a positive note, 28 days from now we may finally have enough snow to go snowmobiling here...
-
They also say you can gather outside max 5 people. Very confusing, not sure what it means for sledding. May not be a great experience if you wanted / have to travel outside your community to snowmobile.

Annual Valtag sticker exemption?

My sled expired in August, I renewed Online first week of December when I noticed, and received sticker in a week. Just my experience. -
Annual Valtag sticker exemption?
Jason T replied to Johnny (Deanlea beach)'s topic in Main Clubhouse
did mine online, took 5 days to get my registration sticker for the sled. was over due by a couple months. Easy and no hassle. -
Sudbury trails are about the same. Less than a foot of snow. Anywhere a groomer has been, there are still lots of rocks, branches, etc just under the snow. Even the rail beds have lots of exposed rock areas. Lots of running water across trails. The end of this week is supposed to cool down so fingers crossed. Need another foot of snow around here and cold.

I bought a HJC cx1 and it is modular and comfortable, no electric shield though and I am a bit disappointed that while riding in warm weather (-2) water runs down the right side of the shield. Ill have to play with it but regret not just buying the mission helmet.

Hey Soup, trail 56 & 111d northwest of Capreol. Avoid 56 if your out that way. Nasty water hazards and carbide crushing rocks.

My trailer is ready, thinking of parking in Bonfield at my aunts and riding for the day. Its painful waiting for the trails here to open.

PWING where are you thread is entertaining.

You have never heard the Citizens of Sudbury motto? I will quote it, but only once as you are not from here. "You first, right after me" Keep that in mind that next time you visit, and drive accordingly. Jk - I have no idea why the trails get so beat up by the hotels, and do not get groomed more often. We do get a lot of sleds in and around the towns, and the trails always seem beat going in and out. I kind of thought it would be the same anywhere there was gas/food/ hotels near the trails no matter what town. But I only really sled around the Sudbury area so just though that's the way it is.

Looks like one of my favorite cities and good food

I read they were being sent out in early October. The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs - OFSC Did you know that the $50 Rider Advantage Confidence Bonus is only available until September 30th? Even bigger than that, your permit purchase funds 30,000 kilometers of trail, 300 groomers, 18,000 landowners and 6,000 volunteers....all for only $190*? If you already have your permit, thank you! Permits will start shipping in October. We're ready for a great season, are you?

Well, the ones still up there, or headed there have until midnight Saturday night. And appears to be some good snow coming tonight and tomorrow.
-
we have 15-20mm of rain coming tonight, so that'll squash any riding around Sudbury. Put the sled in storage last night.
