  1. OK, I'm not going to say that this is an awesome wildlife pic, or that it could only happen to Diane on her first REAL sled journey, only that if you know Diane, that it was SURE to happen. Birds will introduce themselves to her almost anywhere. They just KNOW she's their patron saint.
  2. I respectfully disagree. There will always be those that loot stores in the middle of a hurricane.
  3. It's the people 100%. Just stop at an intersection and you might meet a friend for life.
  4. I blame Brian. I suggest a ritual sacrifice. What have we got to lose? Who's in?
  5. Does this mean the blooper reel from my dash cam will convict all of the scofflaws on my local roads? No?
  6. I'm in if I can shake this miserable bug by then. There's riding closer too if you are "in the loop".
  7. Some sleds are legendary... With a carbed 2t nobody's taking chances! Better to sputter out than to go out with a bang.
  8. That and not being talked down to by horse face was worth getting off the couch and lining up to vote right there. My tandem cargo trailer is more roadworthy than any single axle, and yet I was going to be penalized for it by needing yet another tax grab dropped on me twice?
  9. My mom's birthday was the 25th. Puts a new spin on the day now that she's gone. Happy birthday Denis.
  10. I get the feeling I should know who you are. It's a small world!
  11. Merry Xmas all! Remember to pray for snow for the less fortunate.
  12. Really nice clean sled. Diane rates it "2 thumbs up"!
  13. Maybe it's different in Kitchener. 3 years riding here, haven't seen a sign of it. I did speak to a couple of officers once filling my truck at a gas station. Their patrol went from Renfrew to Cornwall. I suspect they were referring to all of district 1. 2 sleds, one patrol. Is there a way to verify this? It seems absurd.
  14. Precisely. If the provincial government's name is on the documentation, they have a responsibility to ensure compliance. No damn different than the roads.
  15. A little of this would go a long way. I was really surprised at the attention I got when I took matters into my own hands recently. It quickly escalated from a polite response to a 911 call, to 3 cars, and a follow up by the staff sergeant. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
  16. I pay over $1000 a year for "transit tax" and I have not set foot on public transit since that ONE TIME back in 1992. (I'm still in recovery, 55 minutes to go 11km, not including the 40 minute wait for a bus that runs every 15 minutes...) I'd be all in favour of this, especially if it motivated enforcement.
  17. This one has Razr seats, an oversized hot -rodded motor, Yamaha front end, custom clutching, and EPS. Surprised the heck out of me, and a LOT of other sledders who happen upon it.
  18. A word of caution from my experience... There doesn't seem to be much of a end of travel stop on the screw. I typically cranked mine "over the top", just past the TDC so to speak, for stability. One time I was distracted, and went a bit too far. Sled fell forward, could have been a mess. I crimped the he-double hockey sticks out of the threads and exercised more caution since.
  19. Found this. You will first envy me, then jump on the bandwagon. Move fast before they sell out. Muffs
  20. I was going to pull the trigger on a pair, but seem to be sold out. Happily Amazon has 'em.
  21. I would have liked to buy a Beckner, but went with a Lightning too. I think if I wasn't quite so far away, things might have gone differently. I live 610k away. I need stand up height in any trailer I'll own, so that narrowed the field quite a bit. The only thing I would have changed on the Lightning is the chipboard walls. Any money they saved doing this, I spent on 2 coats of stinky primer and paint.
  22. So.... The ATV clubs have trail wardens with authority (theoretically) to stop an ATV, but sled club officials have no such authority?
