  1. Put on 360kms yesterday. Saw a total of 6 sleds. It was a little crispy in the morning but the sun came out and loosened things up. Any road running was terrible and most tight bush sections were no different. Trails though fields and wider bush sections were excellent! Did I mention I love mid-week riding? Started in fergus from home (which will be the last time) and headed straight up to markdale. Then came back down through Durham, Palmerston etc.
  2. I will drive across a road with them down, but I’ll put them up if there’s a long road stretch. No point burning them up..
  3. Snowing like crazy right now in fergus. All road running was brutal last week, but the trail base is still good. Scratchers are a must this time of year.
  4. I think all he did by shutting down the PS/NB health district was put pressure on other health districts where the trails are. Just my thought...
  5. You can also run the ditch along 19 from the golf course just outside of fergus to belwood. Plenty of snow, little salty, a bit bumpy...but safe
  6. I just clean the carb every year on it and it runs like a champ. Actually, I will say the wife and I doubled up on it the one day like dumb and dumber and rode it up penetanguishene harbour and completely destroyed the skid haha! I’m sure it was time for an overhaul anyways! Other than that it’s always been trouble free.
  7. Nice looking trails and it sounds like you guys had a nice ride together. Trails are very good in the south this year! Even if Parry Sound district was open, I’m not sure I would even bother travelling. Sooo good down in the south this year!
  8. Thankyou! 120’s are way too much for me. I bought a 83’ 250 bravo for my 9 & 7yr old a few years back and only paid $550 for it. I started them on it when they both were around 5-6yrs old. That thing will go another 35yrs LOL. new and used kids sleds are priced way too high right now. I would love to get her a kitty cat, then a 120 but they’re just too much money for what they are.
  9. Ive been hiding lol. Wife and I have been busy with our 5 week old girl Gabriella, my third, her first. I’ve also been very busy with snow removal as well as riding! Yes, I chose right this time around hahaha! Conditions are fantastic and there’s a lot more snow on the way!
  10. I think I have around 1900kms so far this season. Did 390kms (gps says 383km) yesterday from home. Trails were incredible the entire day! Conditions are the best I’ve seen it in the south since 2013/14.
  11. I’m not sure if your aware, but you know you can trailer right?
  12. Good, hope they fine the crap out of him!
  13. I think once the trails close up Thursday at midnight, all that traffic will end up over in Halliburton & Bancroft areas or further north. Only a matter of time before the same thing happens in those areas.
  14. I left that page last week, too many idiots. I sold the wife’s sled a couple weeks ago, seriously considering selling mine. Maybe get a couple atvs instead.
  15. I think we all can agree we need new riders, young and old. Whether or not they want to ride trails or boondockin in the bush is fine with me as long as everyone does their part by respecting the sport and landowners. Want to ride trails? Wait until they’re open and stay between the stakes. Want to ride in the bush? Go for it! Go in areas where it’s permitted, and if you need to take the trails to get there, buy a pass.
  16. That photo has been around for a few years now, still makes you wonder how it actually happened though.
  17. I volunteer my time, sometimes my personal equipment and money, my buddies do as well and I’m sure many of you on this forum do as well...what can we all do to try and limit the amount of trespassing? Are we all just going to sit back and let the sport die off because of these “entitled” or whatever you would like to call them, ruin our sport that all the volunteers work so hard for. I know better & more enforcement would help. Huge fines, sled impounding etc. But let’s not count on that. how do we do it without enforcement?
  18. Sold the wife’s Yamaha viper rtx last week. We (I) rode it for 2 seasons and made money on it. Reason I say “I” is because she didn’t like it, so she rode mine. We only sold it because the new baby girl will be here in a few days or so. Like @RAMSOMAIR said, market is hot right now!
  19. Just a question, I’m sure this has been brought up before, maybe not though...what about getting all sledders to write a simple test? Must pass before you get your season pass. I know there will always be those few bad apples ruining it for everyone, there always has been, but do we think educating people would help? Just throwing an idea out there. How much would it cost to implement a test? Would it even help? Something needs to be done before we lose more trails. I think Ive seen about 5-6 permanent trail closures so far this year and it’s extremely frustrating. We’re all a good bunch here, I’m sure we can all put our heads together and think of something, no?
  20. We used to do that from Bellwood and almost make it up to waldemar. Lots of beer and open water involved. All vintage beater sleds.
  21. We’ll be riding that area next year, just absolutely fantastic! One guy that was with us always rides north bay and had never rode Sudbury before. He says it’s way better than NB.
  22. Well, I just couldn’t resist one last ride. The guys and I went up to Sudbury last Friday, we stayed at the valley inn. Rode to rockys for dinner and put on about 120-130km Friday night. Trails were amazing! started the next morning off at 7:30 and headed south. Trails were very good for majority of our ride. None of us had ridden towards Killarney, Espanola etc. so we decided to try it out. Beautiful scenery especially crossing over to manitoulin on the lake. Couldn’t believe how flat that lake trail was. The black viper needed a belt replacement crossing the lake trail so we decided to line em up and take a picture. stopped in Killarney for fuel, which seems to be a very nice area. Then stopped in Espanola for some food. Was very good, but can’t remember the name of the place. Didn’t look like much from the outside, but inside was very nice! that was our snow dust trail leaving that morning, -17 but warmed up quick. came across OH crap HILL Here is our route for Saturday. We did 479kms Saturday. Was a very nice ride and a great way to finish off the season! IMG_3713.MOV
  23. Forsure, there’s no smoother engines out there. In my buddies bearcat, it’s a kymco engine. I’m not even sure if that’s how you spell it lol. We’re going to continue to ride our vipers for the next few years anyways, even if there is something new.
  24. Yeah I knew textron bought them out. The only motor manufacturer that comes to mind is Kymco...not sure if that’s the one your referring to or not.
