The authorities have not restricted road travel. The "advice / recommendations / strong urgings" are not a travel ban. The wording is that you "should not" travel, rather than you "shall not" travel. Not traveling is a pretty good idea in many or even most instances, but it is possible to travel without getting close to other people. If you decide to travel to go sledding, you might consider being quiet about it, lest you add to the furor and make things worse for everyone. The provincial government has said snowmobile trails are allowed to open. The ofsc has stated it's policy will be to deem as "unavailable" trails that connect health units regions with an unequal prevalance of covid. In other words ofsc is doing what it can, to restrict snowmobiling between regions. It is not within ofsc's mandate to control road travel, but they have made road travel "recommendations " consistent with the recommendations of health units and the province. Participate in road travel if you must, but make darn sure not to contract or spread Covid while doing so. Do not ride on unavailable trails, as per normal.

The rep told me they hired 80 staff, but then decided they also had to do some internal reassignment to get the wait time under control.

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I had experienced long wait times when calling TD for sled insurance. Today when I called to remove coverage from one sled and add it to another, I was speaking to a human within 3 minutes. The rep said they made some "internal changes" in late November, to address the terrible wait times. Deal done, paid by Visa, have a nice day, off the phone in under 15 minutes total.

Yes, but I won't hesitate to ride on roads, if they're well covered in ice and snow. Not everyone is interested in that.

The snow depth map seems to be a good way to know which areas have enough coverage on the sideroads and summer maintained roads.

Just to clarify, the trailer I got at Action is a 2019 ProStarr Bullitt 7 x 16. Basically a low profile inline two place trailer. Slomo and TheNavigator have the same model. When I pull the loaded trailer with a 2015 4x4 Ram 8 speed 4 door with the 5.7 hemi motor, the truck runs in 7th gear on flat land, 8th on a slight downgrade, and 6th on an upgrade. No problem or effort with a normal speed of anywhere between 100 and 120 kph. I could easily go faster, but the fuel economy would nosedive.
