  1. Congrats! That is quite the move though to go from where you are to Cochrane.
  2. I know people say this and emotional that’s how they feel now or during the season, but after the summer break from the sport, there interests are recharged and last year is a distant memory, or at least the negatives ones are! And I’m starting to feel the need for a new ride, so next year that just might happen
  3. Seems like lots a people are on the sledding band wagon in lieu of their normal winter interests in light of C19, so when this lovely phase of the nightmare we’re livin ends, I can see some or most of the new audience leaving and selling their toys.....plus as you have stated, should this season be adversely affected by C19, your interest may waiver as well. I hope the new interests stick with the sport and gives it a new lifeline, but time will tell.
  4. Lol, obviously wish that wasn’t going to be the case, but going to be trailers and sleds on the block next year.
  5. So you have no mats or guides, just this coating? Curious what is the coating that is offered? I thought you were also one of the folks that had the lattice on the floor/ramp......
  6. It is not unusual for a club to "ask" riders to pack the trails as well......not usually an open invitation, but it is done.
  7. I will and do check mine that is on the display, cannot be bothered to hand calculate like some do. Does seeing it change my driving habits or deter me from buying a truck, etc......no, not at all, but I like to see what it is displaying. I think the biggest reason I like to see what it says is it can give me an idea if something is not quite right or what conditions I am driving in that either gets me great mileage (for a 3/4 ton truck that is) or $hitty mileage.
  8. I am thinking I will use screws if I install this in my trailer during the off season. No, trailer has marine grade flooring, so figured it was good.....and has been to date. The walls is just plain plywood that has not been treated and zero concerns with it. I was thinking the holes in the regular stuff was kind of big, need to remember this when & if I do it. Looking at the pictures of some trailers with this installed, I think it would be a good idea to add a straight strip perpendicular to the trailer entrance & swing door entrance where the lattice starts and the carbides will likely occasionally hit the wood floor vs. the lattice based on its criss-cross design leaving some opening at its starting edge. My ski guides have seen better days so time for an update, but the rubber mat's up the center and still in great shape, so likely leave the mats and just add the lattice around them.
  9. This is generally a big difference between stopping for lunch on a day trip around LOB, Dorset, G-hurst, Kearney, etc.....than stopping for lunch on a northern out of town trip where it is usually no where near as busy with sledders.
  10. Same guys who bitches about permit prices...... lol Seriously though, something must be wrong to see those numbers or some serious head wind up some big hills.
  11. Usually it is just the balaclava that has moisture, usually not dripping really, at least not mine, but damp for sure.....which might not be allowed to be brought in so bring spares. Helmets & gloves are usually placed on a shelf or coat rack type shelf vs. on a heater, neither are dripping wet though, but I am sure some places may have heaters. Perhaps a bin type system will be get used instead, that get cleaned after each use, not sure. But I am not overly concerned, some could say the same about all the masks people are wearing that get removed and placed on tables while you eat in a restaurant. I also think the science is flawed when you look around and what is going on, more of a poke and hope or certain agenda's perhaps....... There is very much a great big divide on this subject.
  12. Lets talk about the more exciting thing we dearly need & love to all ride on......how much frost in the ground do you have.....
  13. Ya, that is more my thinking & concern, the extended wait time for a table. On a normal year, there are large crowds around lunch, add reduced tables, reduced staff (likely), more work to be done (cleaning) & maybe more riders this year, going to be some tense moments for some......
  14. Larger enclosed trailers make a big difference with drag, I remember when I first switched to a full sized enclosed trailer years ago. 28 to 30 does seem a bit on the high side though, you given her $hit, some big hills, all up hill..... You have a Ram if I recall.
  15. Should not be a big deal. Good idea for sure to pack extra balaclava as they can be an item of greater concern. As for shelf for helmet or table or chair, etc....., no different than kids going on school buses now, cleaned after kids get off or going to chiro, table gets cleaned after you leave or going to local restaurant now, table & chairs get cleaned off after you leave or groomer operator switching shifts, cab gets cleaned before next operator runs a shift, etc......
  16. The issue with the Doo is it a higher sitting sled that can not be unpredictable when going down the trail whereas the Yami in the chassis Di has is more of the older couch style that is more predictable, even though I know some say the Yami has its quirks as well. I know when my wife rode years ago, she always liked to ride the F7 that I kept around and her reason was it was a lower siting sled more like a couch that she was comfortable riding.......if she gets back into sledding again, I have always had the Yami in my head as the sled she would likely feel the same on.
  17. Congrats! Did you keep the eye bolt that came with the super clamps when you bought yours to fasten it through the floor vs. the quick slide eyelet? Seeing people use and talk about using that lattice on the floor vs. ski guides, seems like a great idea!
  18. I have had a Triton TC118 since 2014 when I bought it new. It has been a great trailer and at the time I bought, other similar trailers were all close in price range.....Triton I think was slightly more, but it also came with more features and better built, IMO. The only issues I have had is my one tire valve stem started to leak about a month ago and I need to replace the 1" Black vinyl trim insert that covers all the screws down both sides every couple of years because the sun dries it out. Looking at the prices now, I think I might be able to almost sell it for close to what I paid.......
  19. Imagine how many were not creating circle jerks.....
  20. Yes it was, really hard to believe some would not have thought so....but these are some very tense times that we live in...
  21. To date I have received two of them....maybe my nice words above about dealing with them put me in their good books compared to all the not so nice works....
  22. Ya, I missed that other important factor, gears too will skew the numbers.....I have 4:10 in my truck..
  23. Just paid my sled insurance over the phone, on hold for 20 minutes. Talk to a very pleasant lady about the delay, she stated on average it has been 45 minutes but things are finally starting to get closer to the normal wait time, but not there yet. I wanted to set up my TD online account for easier payment while I was on hold, which I could not do by myself for some reason on there portal, talked to the first lady about my payment who said she would transfer me to that department once we were done, on hold for that maybe 10 minutes, but that is now set up and next year if I am with TD, just log on and pay my yearly premium.... All and all, not a big deal.
