  1. My little guy loving his new cool low windshield he got for Christmas - and my daughter now riding Grandma's sled - they grow up fast.
  2. Good size stone, one of mine was pretty much the same, I was 9 x 7 - 2nd one was around 5 mm, September 25th, 2020 - a morning I will never forget. I have never experienced pain like that in my life - not from broken ankles, wrists, elbow, jaw, ribs, separated shoulder, nothing has ever come close to that feeling - and I hope I never have to feel it again. Glad you are on the right end of it. Glad the Cat is only cosmetic and most importantly - you're daughter was not seriously injured - things can and will change pretty quickly. another day I will never forget is a couple of years ago - riding with my father - came across another father son - son doing CPR on his deceased father off the side of the trail - a hard reminder how dangerous sledding can be when out for a casual sunday ride.
  3. Yup, we got pummelled un-expectedly friday - then all day saturday too. Thursday night - I finished flooding my rink at 11:30 - she was perfect - calling for a 30% chance of a dusting - woke up to 10" of fresh snow by 7:00 a.m. - snowed all day - continued into saturday and stopped in the evening. I am out of places to put snow from my rink right now.
  4. We got smoked here in the Steel City, buried. On the plus side - went riding Sunday and my goodness was that a lot of fun and just what I needed to feel some normal. Enjoy riding folks.
  5. Did Santa Claus tell you this story?
  6. I can't tell people what to do, but if I were a resident and/or had any desire to ride the area, I would be riding regardless and take the ticket, not pay it, and put it into court. Enjoy the season, the order is an over-reach and is not/can not be supported by any scientific medical data. Take back your rights folks.
  7. Lawyer is working Pro-Bono - someone with teeth in the issue should be in contact asap and get his wrong righted.
  8. I would be calling this lawyer asap. He managed to win and get the gym open. Show the hyprocsy. Also, as a trail permit purchaser - you are part of a "CLUB" - a private club - frig this guy and ride your trails. See him in court. https://www.kitchenertoday.com/local-news/kitchener-gym-launches-a-charter-challenge-against-ontarios-stay-at-home-order-3285247
  9. Hence my comment about opening up, riding, and going against this stupid order. He may have the power to implement it, but there has to be sound reason and justification - none of which exists outside of his own twisted vision. It might be time his bs be taken in front of a judge, I think clubs should keep grooming, people should keep riding and let the ticket writing happen with every single one of them go into the already back logged courts for dispute. It's over the top and people should not be listening and obeying like dogs looking for some sort of a treat.
  10. Just a thought, but has anyone considered just moving ahead and opening , riding, defying said order? and taking the fine and this BS into court?
  11. Look at the tall handlebars - it's as if they could forecast stand up riding style - off trail......:)
  12. I honestly can't believe with all that is going on and the winter we've had to date that anyone is spending money on sledding, but on the plus side, I think it's great and think it speaks volumes about the dedicated core of riders still out there.
  13. My Polaris modular was colder and heavier - been wearing open face and goggles since 2010 and don' think I will go back ever again.
  14. Fair enough - could be in the other area of the forum- but it's all relates to the snowmobile issue and that's where it started from. Cheer up
  15. They all suck, that's the reality, and each one of them are one sided one persons opinion - you just need to pick your side and that's it.
  16. It may have changed since the last time I used it - but it was simple for us - vehicle is vehicle - our membership was not specific for that other than had to be a vehicle that I owned and I had to be with it - was seriously no issue at all.
  17. Money makes people do un-ethical stupid things. I don't believe in GOD or whatever, but I do believe in karma and what comes around goes around. frig em.
  18. 2004 - towed from Whitney back to Huntsville, valentines day. Requested flat bed for the sled , zero issue and it was all good.
  19. We've used CAA before, worked well.
  20. Yes, I am familiar with the wave scenario, but in my 30 + years of sledding - I have never once seen or heard of that happening with a sled. I don't know about you guys, but when I am on the lake, the fun flipper is down, I would be shocked to ever have ice break beneath me unless it's where I am getting on and off. I also never follow directly behind anyone either, even if it's a track width outside, I like to carve my own trail so to speak.
  21. Well, you have to be going pretty slow for it to break under you - might not be great behind you - but for it to break under you - you're simply going WAY too slow......that's always been the way I have looked at it.
