  1. Hell, there are spring flowers blooming already, at our Michigan place. Crews are already working on residential outdoor projects. Our guy started Monday on us. New siding, fascia, soffit, windows, 2 sliding doors, and redecking, our 2 decks. Added some exterior insulation sheeting, and tyvek wrap too. Ski

  2. We rode down from Kirkland Lake to Elk Lake on the A for lunch today. Riding in the morning, everything was fine. From the junction of A and A110Q to the junction A and L162 has been groomed and is in good condition with a few thin spot where it crosses rough terrain. Below L162 there has been no grooming since before the melt down. It’s about a 40 km stretch from there to Elk Lake. The upper half saw a lot more snow than the lower half. The A trail runs on the River now on the north side of town (not on land like it shows on the OFSC map). The hill climb off the river was ice mud and rock this afternoon. That lower section was turning grey coming back this afternoon with small bare sections. The snow was soft and the trails were still decent but the traffic was taking a toll. The trails around Kirkland Lake are patchy, mostly still snow but slushy with bare spots. We were done by 330. Still warm and sunny out. My buddy and I were pretty surprised at how fast the trails were deteriorating in the afternoon. We are heading home in the morning. I don’t think there is a good ride near here tomorrow afternoon but there are plenty of people in Cochrane who are riding back to Kirkland Lake tomorrow.

  3. Ya, sledding crowd is older around here, and really overall in general. What ya ride I don’t think is a factor most think of when riding, other than perhaps a sled not looked after causing potential break down, but even new sleds leave you stranded. Same as pace, a slower reasonable rider is not that far behind when you stop at intersections to wait for all to catch up, plus is it really about the race to get to your destination or about the ride it takes to get there, at whatever pace and enjoying that. It seems things change more so due to weather, conditions or peoples life that changes, that cause a change in plans. Personality conflicts might be a bigger factor for some.

  5. Blue book value on used sleds dropped huge in last 4 months. The numbers on clean 24' trades is crazy!

  6. 700 is a lot.. That's not going to move unless it's 3-5K off and I doubt they can do that. Add in the new sleds they have to buy for the fall and it could get interesting.. Some dealer may not have the cash on hand to be able to buy their allotment for this year. From what a few posted each dealer is expected to buy X amount of sleds. Mike

  9. Highway 11 was closed this afternoon. Trails were good. 3 to 4” of fresh snow on top of hard icy pack. Rode 134km this aft. Unfortunately 20km of my trip was pulling a 2024 Polaris Boost with 70km on the first engine. I guess the second engine will be better next year. saw a groomer out this evening. Should be good to go.
