    • I stand to be corrected but I believe they have been buying at least 2 types of groomers. One is a 4 wheel drive tractor style with Soucy track conversions on 4 corners. The other is a "ski hill" type of groomer which I think is a Prinorth Husky, There may also have been a couple of Ebert tractor 2 track type in the past few years as well.
    • This garbage of insane micro managing and over analyzing data has infected everything.  Its the same story everywhere. Look at sports, advanced "analytics" etc. - it's over the top, and all it really is some person trying to make themselves relevant and act like the smart one in the room.    If we're talking groomers, I will listen carefully to the guy with grey in his beard, grease on his hands, orange stained fingers, and a dirty coat about them before some guy in khakis and a button up sitting on his laptop.
    • A question for those in the know :   Are the groomers now all the same that get purchased?   Same make and model?  Wedge a groomer into a trail to make it fit?   what was mentioned above about a BR and how it fit on the trails and operators liked it makes sense.  Simple reliable with maybe less electronics?   I see it everyday that manufacturers want to increase the sale of digital platforms on machinery.  Monitor performance   Monitor use Remote monitoring of operators and how they work machine.   I see the OFSC probably listening to sales pitches and suppliers and being sold on remote monitoring / new tech and how it can be used for better productivity and performance to maximize the fleet productivity to reduce the required numbers.  How else do they come up with 100kms per groomer across the board?   All trails are equal and all groomers can preform equal.   I could be wrong but that is the way construction equipment, trucks, cranes are all going.
