Helmets to me are like an old pair of jeans. New ones suck.
I only buy a new helmet if my visor fails and I can no longer get a new one for it.
The balaclava I wear under it is harder to replace. A few years ago I needed a new balaclava and ended up with about 20 of them before I found "the one".
Yeah too much is no good either. I have farm bearings in my feed lines. I took weight off ends by mounting hoppers on ceiling. Now the bearings last forever. So load in a trailer would affect how long they last too, especially uneven loads, if person always loaded that way. I no longer add any grease to my bearings I just leave them and back to shop it goes in 5 years. Never had a bearing failure.
