Viper
Well the 4th Annual Sled Ride of Hope is now over and I am very pleased to announce that it was a great success. Even though Mother Nature and a Group of Landowners threw a pretty decent curve ball at us the ride went off without a hitch... I would like to thank all our participants for being patient with me and Paul while we worked through the hick ups. You truly are a great bunch of supporters and my hat goes off to you! Thanks to Scott @ Muskoka Motion we were able to re-locate our starting point and give our participants some trails to ride. Here we have Team PPSC loading up the Vipermobile and getting ready to leave from the Riverside Inn to head up to Muskoka Motion Team Barnes/Hanlon & Pitboyz all loaded up The group arrival at Muskoka Motion Team PPSC out on the trails Team Yukon leaving Muskoka Motion SnowFXGirl & Black Star Lucky2 One of the Two Demo Rides that Factory Recreation supplied us for our ride. The second ride that Factory Recreation supplied us. Yes folks it's the new 1200 4 stroke from BRP. WOW what a ride, THANK YOU Factory Rec for your continued support! Representing The Paudash Trail Blazers xcr800. Thanks again for your generous suport Paul and to the Paudash Boys Last but NEVER least our sweep for the day Kenny, thanks for volunteering and always helping our cause Ken, Paul & I really appreciate your support at our events. One of the many stops that our group made due to overheating issues early in the morning. Another quick stop to make sure our group was still all together and well. As always a groups moto should be "No Sleder Left Behind" Our group had smiles all around. All of our groups stopped in to support the Du Ya Wanna Snowmobile Club and their annual BBQ. Great food folks thanks for filling the PET Supporters bellies! I was very pleased to see my friend and long time PET Supporter Bill Cudney from Cudney Racing Thanks for your long time support Bill your a class act. After lunch we ran into Red Rocket who warned us about an upcoming trail wash out Holy smokes was it ever washed out, I hope RevMolester's sled is fixed soon. We were able to go around this washout by re-routing over the pond. Here our group is traveling along the Sequin Trail. A short while later our fearless leader Yukon and his eagle eye spotted some deer on the trail. Unfortunately I was only able to get one shot as I scared them off when I tried to get closer. I guess Viper will never be a hunter. We traveled down a section of trail dedicated to the late Don Stinson A shot of the trail itself A nice small lake just around the corner from the dedicated trail section. On the way back home to Port Sydney we ran into a logging truck taking up the entire trail. Thankfully he backed up for us to let us pass. Almost back home and coming back under the tunnel underneath Hwy 11 Our groups loaded back up and headed back to the Riverside Inn for the evenings festivities. I would like to congratulate our top three Pledge earners, they are as follows. In Third Place is Classic Brian Second Place went to Red Rocket And our Top Pledge Earner who is a Prostate Cancer Survivor Frank. Here is Frank speaking to our participants about how important it is for all males over the age of 40 to get checked annually. In closing I would like to thank ALL our sponsors for their continued support. Please support our sponsors when ever possible! On a personal note I would like to thank Paul Ineson (Yukon Cornelius) for his year round dedication to the Prostate Extreme Team. You're a huge asset to us Paul, I am NOT surprised that you got volunteer of year for your club, you should get volunteer of the decade for what you do for PET. Another huge thanks has to go to Don from the Riverside Inn for being so understanding with us leading up to the ride. Not many establishments would be as accommodating as the Riverside was and I would like to thank Don and his staff for a great weekend! I would also like to extend a HUGE thank you to George Reid and the Muskoka Sno Bombers for all their support and help throughout this past weekend. Your a great bunch of people with huge hearts and I hope we can return to your region once this dispute has been dealt with. The 2009 Sled Ride of Hope raised over $14,000.00 for The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada. This total is expected to increase as we get the mail in donations from those participants who could not attend our event. Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's event, we'll see you all again in 2010. As always stay tuned to our Website for updates and announcements!
