  1. There is a small wash out in the swamp, its very passable just bumpy. It should be fixed up soon, i spoke with the trail boss about it last night. Groomers were out last night, just not much snow to work with.
  2. They groomed d103b today, showing yellow now. I just got back from a short run to check the HGR trails out. D103b towards freds place was bumpy and didnt look like it had been dragged yet, that section always needs alot of snow. Maybe the marsh towards baysville is still sketchy also? Anyone know? I turned around and went up a nicely goomed 51, turned around at lynx lake and headed back to the lake. The groomer is out on the east side right now.West side is groomed, went up 50 half way and its all good. Even my access trail has been groomed. For the folks coming north from snocrest/BB and wanting get to dorset/dwight and beyond i would recommend crossing Mary(its staked but slushy in spots)to 51 to d102 to 54 then hop on penn lake or LOB to dwight.
  3. My buddy lives down by Frasurberg on d103b and he says its been packed but not groomed yet. One of my fav trails. HGR has been out with their drag on this week.
  4. Not sure it would help but i dont see any "Ride Your Side" signs around D7 anymore. Even on a straight away this past saturday i had a rev 2up riding staight down the middle, my right ski is off the trail to avoid hitting them! Seems every weekend afternoon every single corner is gouged out with one rut thru the gut of it. Stop being sheep and stay on your side.
  5. ASC, Tall pines and HR trails were in good shape. Dwight over to Dorset was excellent, other than one nasty (2-3km) section of plowed logging just south of the ASC shelter on d101. Came back for lunch in Dwight then headed north towards highland rovers, trails were getting beat up by then plus it was snowing hard so turned around at d102/95. Nice trails for opening weekend!
  6. Hmmm. They got some yellow on the map now, showing their section of seguin open. And their latest FB post said all issues have been resolved. Maybe they're out grooming it up tonight.
  7. About 4-5" of snow after midnight in Port Sydney. On top of an inch or so of ice pellets. Looked pretty dismal yesterday morning and now its back to normal! Nice little snack for the HS928 to eat this morning, love that blower.
  8. We should switch over to snow soon. Watching the freezing line on the radar drift south slowly. Even ice pellets would be better than rain/freezing rain!
  9. Hi. That area to the northwest is Happy Wanderers club and it just opened yesterday. I havent tried it yet but i know the area very well. Pretty good early season riding. Almost all the trails are sweeping fast fun logging roads/seasonal summer cottage roads. Not that big of an area but enough for a few hours of amusement if you wanna try you're sled out. Fresh snow over night. I'd go there before the rail line.
  10. How can they say no trespassing when its the pipe line/hydro cut? Makes no sense to me.
  11. Where is the new build? I didnt see it on my drive today.
  12. The Pipeline section comes out at Stephenson 2 and looks like the best alternative and i think thats where it used to go. Too bad really, the bridge that was built in that section not being used now.
  13. Yes of course 37 and reconnect with D if you're heading north or south but 37(snobombers/DYW) always opens later than the top D thru HGR territory.
  14. Yikes, more road running on the D trail. Hope they can work something out. Thinking i'll use stephenson 2 rd to 37 instead of lone pine.
  15. Perhaps you speak of the "7 ups" on D trail between Bracebridge and Port Sydney. I've had some close calls in that section too. If you're not paying attention, you sure could have a bad crash, and there usually is every year.
  16. A friend sent me this pic this morning. Looks like its heading east towards the bridge. They're usually excellent with updates on facebook so we'll see.
  17. Thats not good, its probably the best early season riding in this area, doesnt need a lot of snow to open. Lets hope they finish logging by xmas and the pisten bulley can just wing the snow back over.
  18. I have a pair of heavy Baffins that are similar to there "Meltwater" rubber boot with the wetsuit type material half way up. Although mine are rated -50 with toe protection and the model they have now is only -20. I got 5 seasons on them and they're still perfect. I even use them at work in the winter. Never got a soaker or cold feet yet. If i were to replace them i'd get the new model and a wear a thicker sock.
  19. Looking for a windshield for my ZR. Rolled it last year. Prefer a high one. Im in muskoka most weekends travelling north from hamilton niagara area. Shoot me a message, thanks!
  20. I tried a buddys indy 850 with them in Quebec. They work really good but i noticed they can leave a gouge in the trail if they get clogged up with ice/snow. Terrible following someone when they do that. That creates a lot of drag and really hurts fuel economy. Im going back to cobra heads next year.
  21. http://skihiddenvalley.ca/web-cam.html A good one for keeping an eye on the ice on Penn lake. http://www.muskokabiblecentre.com/live-stream/ can usually see the noth end of mary lake on this one. Not so great right now. http://www.algonquin-sc.on.ca/webcam.html This one shows snow depth in Dwight area too.
