  1. Im headed for Cochrane friday, should be up there in afternoon. Sat headed to Hearst and sunday onwards to Mooseonee. We come back Tuesday afternoon, and riding all day wednesday and homewards thursday.
  2. Yep, JR's is open during the weekend. We were there for a few days back to back from Fri to Monday ..
  3. Who cares. Go up and support them. Without that fuel stop not many would be able to do the entire loop anyways. We stopped in both times last week. First one was to have lunch, second was to get a drink. Both times we got fuel while there and listened to the young lads stories.
  4. Yep, just did that run twice this past week. Guys are open and only accept cash as payment. It is near $5 / Litre. The west side is passable but not as enjoyable as the east side.
  5. phew .. thank god i saw this. Well be on the A loop hopefully on Monday ..
  6. I can chime in here .. ive been running bergstrom triples for last 2 seasons on my 'winder. Never cared for them too much. I just found a set of Semi Aggressive snow trackers and just got back from my first ride with them, wow .. what a difference. Why i never originally went with them in the first place i dont know .. i hear the same stories as mentioned above and im not worried about it. Im an aggressive rider and will certainly put them to the test next week up north
  7. 100% agree. They are now pushing this story to every news media and social site now. There is something up for sure ..
  8. True, you can be served doesnt mean you are or will be paying into someones lawsuit. As long as you act in good faith, the GSA protects you from lawsuits and has already been tried here in a court of law.
  9. Just an FYI. The HTA was changed in Sept of last year to include all private entities as well. ie parking lots etc. I dont think that includes snowmobile trails with the exception of road running, or alongside a highway. Again, up to officer interpretation.
  10. Beauts thanks for the info .. Well looks like 3 of are headed up to do the tour in mid march. We took the last spots .. I m riding a Stage 3 'Winder .. this should make it interesting. Lolz.
  11. Yeah Fawaz saw them when we were testing them out at Mosport and Calabogie. The guy who really took off with them is Eric Moffiete (spelled wrong im sure) as he continously to this day still sells em .. yep did my stint in SOAR too.
  12. Yep, the vests were the first for market. And than they started building them into the suits, but at a cost of 5 grand. Ive been away from racing for almost 7 years now .. and im sure the technology has grown leaps and bounds.
  13. Saw a post a few days back on social media about tours launching out of Hearst, that heads towards Moosonee and near James Bay. Anyone ever rode that way or with that tour outfit before?
  14. The inflatable vests that was being mentioned i was testing them here in Ontario years ago for motorcycle racing. They fit over top of your leathers and attach via a cord. When seperated from bike the cord fires into the C02 canister, and inflates pretty much all of your torso, neck area. They deinflate themselves after a few minutes, and as long as the "deployed airbag" is not damaged you push it all back together and re install a new CO2 cartridge and good to go. I dont know if they would be beneficial to the sport of snowmobiling though, but anything helps ..
  15. Guy at the desk at microtel in KL told us that they had only seen 14 truck / trailer combos so far this season. Normally its packed and they have an overflow lot. When we were there for the 4 nights, there was only at best 4 trucks including mine in the lot.
  16. Just experienced the same thing at the Microtel in Kirkland lake. We booked 4 nights there and 1 in cochrane. Told us theyd have to charge us $50 per night to keep the truck/trailer there, when we are not there. Told them to call the manager up at home, and call me in my room direct. That got sorted real fast .. Another thing which was weird is they dont allow you to park your sleds outside the hotel. They must be put back in the trailer at night ...
  17. revrnd, looks like you guys had a good trip .. We got up late friday afternoon, and left wednesday morning. Overall we did 1900 kms in those 4 (1/2) days ..
  18. Looking forward to the canyon for my first time .. revrnd and irreverent ..hopefully we can cross paths. Bob has my ride schedule and cell number ..
  19. Anyone have info from the A108Q which goes down the river towards the quebec border? (besides it being red due to health district) .. was hoping to run from Kirkland lake to Temi shores into Quebec. The club gave the usual response .. but hoping someone has run it, or someone local with insight?
  20. We may not see you .. as sounds like you guys are headed hearst way. Were doing Cochrane/ canyon/smooth rock sunday .. staying in cochrane.
  21. Watch for a blue sidewinder and manta green 'doo .. Were in the area from Friday till wednesday (.. ish. )
  22. Damn we just crossed over that in the last 2 days or so too ..
  23. We just ran from Lindsay all the way up the railbed, around harcourt and wilberforce and back into hali and down. Got stopped twice and we had guys from Toronto with us ( out of their approved health units) and they just checked paperwork and told us to move on.
  24. Cant recall the company name now. But that doesnt sound familiar ..
  25. Location ? Id be interested if they fit a sidewinder. Tired of getting my knuckles rapped off trees.
