    Permits

They will be awesome, until the day after I decide I will buy a permit, then it will rain. LOL

    Permits

I havent bought on either yet. We wrecked a sled last year on day 2 of 3 that the trails were open local. Havent replaced it yet, and my barn doesnt allow for a trip north. After a few too many years of only 3 day trails open, i decided to wait and see what Jan does as well.
  3. Yup Me too. They do my farm, auto sled, atv, life insurance. They know that if im on hold for longer than a few minutes, i can walk into the office and smack them over the head since they are that close to me.
  4. They like to stop at the local Timmies between barns sometimes. A few years back, the owner was having some painting done in the bathrooms. Next day, as these crews show up, ask crew manager to please have his crew refrain from writing in the wet paint with fingers. Crew manager asks how he knows it his guys, and not someone else. Owner replies, there are chicken feathers stuck on the wall as well.😄
  5. We ended up wrecking a sled in those three days last year. My wife walked away from hitting a tree. Im having a hard time justifying a purchase of a new one, and not sure if Im gonna put a permit on the other one I still have. Hopefully Bill is right, and we get some good snow and cold. I still have one sled, and a set of downhill skis to use.
  6. I believe there was a post about this last summer, where someone had a boat or trailer stored at a neighbours house near Ottawa when the derecho came , and things didnt go very "neighbourly" between the two after that.
  7. But how do you do that, when this year the trails in Milverton were open for 3 days. Its hard to have "staff" sitting ready, making themselves available for Jan, Feb, and March for a phone call that will likely not come.
  8. Livestock trailers are probably the most washed trucks in the industry.. I have one come here every week, never shows up dirty, and almost all loads are the same. One load, and then a wash, another load, then a wash. Costs me $5000 a year to have the trucking company wash before they come, but biosecurity makes that the cheapest expense around. Friends of ours used Hutton Transport out of Paisley to move their house when they moved from Ontario to Alberta 6 or 7 years ago. Loaded all there clothes and furniture in it, and got there a day or two after they did. Some of those guys trailers will haul freight out to Home Hardware from St Jacobs, to Wetaskiwin Alberta on a regular basis, and then move the floors around as needed, and then cattle home. Wash , rinse Repeat, just like shampooing your hair.
  9. Yes. Prices have definetley softened from a year or two ago. At that time, I coulda got 50 % more for the sled than I paid for it 5 years prior with 50 % more km on it then when I bought it. Now a little more reasonable. Not gonna rush a purchase, I got all summer, or longer to make up my mind. I still got one sled to ride.
  10. Yup Came through the bush, didnt see her behind me anymore, waited and turned around. She was standing beside the sled when I got there. Coulda ended up much differently
  11. From the pics. it doesnt look bad. But ended up twisting the frame, chancase rivets are popped of the frame, needs almost all new plastics on the front, and some skis. A couple of modules, muffler etc... I have collision on the sled, so Im not sure if could be fixed for less, just not to original state like insurance would want it
  12. Got the quote back today. $14,444.32 with tax to repair it. I guess im in the market for another sled now.

This something that the Owen Sound Eastside Snowmobile Club volunteers have put so much time, effort and love into year after year, in addition to their regular trail building activies - and mainly for the enjoyment of others. On behalf of OFSC District 9 and every rider that taken shelter here, planned their rides around stopping here, or shared a good time with family and friends inside these walls....please know that we are all standing with you and appreciate everything single thing you do for snowmobiling in the area Owen Sound Eastside Snowmobile Club eStnposodr1l7hg5673uuf0790254tl8l7g31gtlumtuh9ha52mhu04t14u2 · It is with great sadness that the Owen Sound Eastside snowmobile clubhouse burned to the ground early on Monday. Fire investigators are investigating the fire and will report back to the club once samples are tested. It has been a difficult year for the clubhouse. First it’s solar system was stolen and then this. The club appreciates all the support that it has received from local businesses, landowners and sledders over the past 50 years. The club will meet in the spring to decide the future of this site.
  14. Any recomendations where to get body repairs done on a 2010 Skidoo Grand Touring? My wife caught a tree today, and sled is in need of repairs. Fortunately, she walked away with only a few scrapes and bruises. Was in a bush, only going about 40kmh. Needs some front suspension, and plastic panel work. Im located in Perth County.
  15. Im glad the Monkey barrel forum was put in. Keeps everything else PG, and enter at your own risk if you want to. Made it a friendlier place again IMO.
  16. My driveway and field is nice and firm. Used the loader tractor to scrape the lane today, and no soft spots in it.
  17. Ive got an 02 Triton open . I did my axle about 2 or 3 yrs ago. More because the Hydraulic surge brakes needed replacing, and went with an electric brake for less money than the parts for the hydraulics were. My aluminum under the trailer looks just like yours. Good for another 15-20 yrs yet.🤞
  18. My initial thought is no.. They dont rust, so it wont help in that regard. Age and fatigue is the culprit wiht an aluminum trailer. Just my opinion.

Any update on a reroute to be able to ride from Moonlight /Chateau if up that way again sometime?
  20. What about an electric car? Or a zero turn mower?
  21. I've pretty much given up hope for South this year. Looking at 14 day, no frost in the ground by Jan 21, and the bushes etc... will be wide open. Swamps wont freeze much after that, and dtiches/ low spots wont be froze either. Hopefully Im wrong, and Feb will be awesome for sledding.
  22. Talking to a fella yesterday, said you could probably boat to the cottages on Lake Joseph again right now .
  23. On a FB group, someone in Milverton was looking for scrub/ uniforms s in certain sizes, so some of the staff in the same clothes since Fri morning, could have a clean change of clothes at Knollcrest. These staff have worked non stop essentially, sleeping when they can since Fri morning.
  24. Made 15 minutes from me in Listowel Ontario. https://www.weberlane.com/snowmobile-trailers/
  25. I would be putting 1400 km on vehicle, to put 60 on the sled. I think I will wait a little longer.
