South is OPEN!!!!!!
Dave K replied to Viper's topic in ** NEW** Orangeville SC / Dufferin Drift Busters
All of D9 looks good. Some other spots are pretty broken up. We had one guy in our club who didn't want to sign, would let us cross, just wouldn't sign. It ran across the back of his field, so we moved to the other side of the fence now, and on a different neighbor's filed, who we cross in other spots already. -

Was out staking this morning. Some of the stakes went in ahead of the groomer making a pass, the groomer caught up, and then the rest of the stakes went in after the groomer made a pass. ( which was good, as I already got my ATV stuck twice in the snow by time he caught up to me.) -
Exactly. Sharp exacto knife, and some GooGone, and never know it was there. If there is a slight scratch, or residue, it will be covered by the permit next year again anyways.

Ski resorts in Banff are beginnig to open for the season now. Heading there for a conference in Jan. Hope to get an extra day of skiing in, as long as it isnt -40 or something like that.

I can always tell when we are the furthest south trails open. Parking lots are jammed up, wherever there is a space, people take it. And thats usually on a yellow trail. If you lose our trails, you lose anyone south of us who won't/cant trailer to Parry Sound, Sudbury etc... for a day or two of riding

Do they figure that every Rural house has a hydrant in front of it? Check with your local FD, they may have accredidation for tanker supply that wil give you a discount ( essentially they show they can supply water as fast as a hydrant) Its kind of a crap shoot. They test the supply on a Sat, when the Volunteer FD are wating for the test to start. Should test on a Tues at 10 am, with no notice, and see if you can do it then.

I have fxr pants, and so does my wife, and most of my kids. We love them. Slim fit, My old set made me look like the Michelin Man. The pants have zippers to open as vents when it gets a little warmer, and you have "too much" clothing on. I dont know about the jackets. Have never had one of them

A bunch of volunteers, on private land will have that repaired next weekend If it's municipal, it will take 2 years and be over budget.

Wasnt it windsor salt that ws on strike last year? I may be wrong, but I prefer Windsor softener salt, and had a hard time getting it.

I wonder if they would take my 02 Skidoo 600 Gt w 25000 km on a trade? It should be worth about $2000. If thats not April fools, somebody is getting serious about moving inventory.

How is the Jolly now? Gogle reviews are mixed in the last while. -

I fill the tank in the spring, add seafoam or stabilizer. Suck the tank empty in the fall, and add fresh fuel. Was told in college, a full tank condensates on the outside, while an empty tank will condensate on the inside. -
Last Friday, Blue had 38 runs open, this morning, 18. The fat lady is in the dressing room, warming up her vocal chords.

I agree. The sun hasnt shone this bright , for this long, in about 6 weeks here. Maybe more.

Thanks. That was really my quesiton. I was curious if it was a 48 hr permit, or 2 calender dates. Looks like the general consensus is , its 2 calendar days, and if I buy at 12 am, or 4 pm, it is only good for the days purchased.

This was actually Thurs night, on closed trail, not Fri. I went and took pics on Fri for the club when we heard about it, but I didnt see any beer cans laying around then so?????
-
To add insult to injury, when they came back to get the sled, someone stole the linq bags and gas can from his sled. That bridge gets one sled a year on average

Does anyone know, If I buy a 2 day permit at, say 4 pm. on Sun. Does it go till 4 pm on Tues, or does it expire on Mon at midnight?
-
I always stay in the west side of the bridge, and go against traffic. I've got the advantage I know how the trail goes though. Long bridge, not a great option.

The wind is our enemy. It hasnt stopped blowing since Fri here. Drifts along fencelinces, and fields are bare..
