  1. So what are all the 2022 DOO owners planning to do about the lack of security on their new rides with a one key works for all 2022 sled, DESS system?
  2. Would anyone be surprised if they do not go for that or close to it..... People's sleds are not ready, Dec is a few days away, emotions are going to start flaring soon and desperate times, calls for desperate measures.....sledders are a different breed. How many times have you heard stories of guys on trips having a major failure and buy a new sled sitting on the showroom floor at a local dealer.
  3. Thanks Blake. I did not opt for the SS....truthfully was not thinking about the shortages when I did not pick that, more of something that may be more likely to break, first year possible hiccups, plus it was a costly option that I am not sure is worth it.....maybe down the road I will though. In hindsight, glad I did not go with them due the issues being dealt with surrounding that technology. I did order mine I think within days of the spring check option and the dealer did mention while I was there to the guy that walked in literally right behind me with the same inquiry about the status of his sled, that what he was told was the orders are being processed wherever possible based on when the order was placed - which was nice to overhear as lots of people are suggesting dealers are not using that same principle. One of the other sales guy there even commented that his exact same sled as mine is not expected until late Jan...
  4. LOL on the bold. There has always been a big dislike on both sides, but common ground must be found, now more so than ever before with the shrinking foot print each group is legally allowed to use.
  5. So.....I finally had the time to stop into my dealer to inquire with an update on my new ride with the expectation to receive a date on estimated delivery and go from there, however, when my sales guy tells me I think your sled is here & done because I have parts from it sitting on my desk with your name n it (from glove box install), I was totally shocked. So we go for a walk around the dealership in search of it, no luck. Look a little harder and low and behold it is sitting in the other corner with my name on and a sign asking people to stay off - unit is sold! Two things are missing - the operational DESS and my 1+1 seat. Info dealer has is DESS will be next year.....1+1 seat late Jan/early Feb, so we see what happens, but things could be much worse. Just snapped one picture, will take some more when she is home, later this week hopefully. Turned into a great Monday!!!
  6. Is it just me or does the app on your phones not work yet, just on the website is how you can can access the ITG?
  7. Your expectations are too high in this day and age…. Lol. Joking aside, that’s sad and it’s only seen the softest part of our year, wait until the harshest part is over!
  8. KISS method... But as noted above, I can see if you place the pass on a portion of the sled where you could share it with other sleds, as being an issue and require the paperwork to prove this is not the situation.
  9. Lol… warm up shacks in southern Ontario j/k
  10. Taking one for the team I see - you are a good man / son ! Perhaps for your dad an upgrade from the POO he rode last year.......... lol.
  11. 15k with no issues - always a good thing I only had one sled actually have a driveline bearing go on a local ride around Baysville - Wife was riding it, tells me there is a squeaking noise that randomly happened...... For good measure on one of my other past sleds with I think around 6000 miles on it, I figured I'd replace for good measure - of course bearing was still in good shape, not dry, etc..... Last sled, as mentioned above, I thought about it, but never did it. You just never know when you will have ones of those bad days on the trails!
  12. The odd thing is, not all seem to have the issue.....but I guess could. It seems to be a more common issue on the turbo with big HP. Never touched mine, when I was getting up in miles., I considered inspecting, but never did.....and never had an issue, sold now of course.
  13. Bingo - I have never been asked for paperwork associated with the permit on my sled. I have also been stopped by OPP that were not even checking for permits, just all the other paperwork - always an officer in a cruiser sitting on the road by a trail crossing, so not part of the SAVE unit is my assumption.
  14. You can also buy products that you wash the article with to reapply waterproofing to them.
  15. Good stuff. What exactly did you order?
  16. Enclosed sled trailer for the win now ..... lol
  17. Been a while since I used covers, but I think I may have washed mine at a laundromat when I did - when I sold the sleds that had covers, I know I sold them with the covers, so must have been successful! I would not have removed any of the straps either.
  18. The first time we experienced it years ago we were kind of confused.....we were gassing up at a small full serve station and see the guy checking over our sleds, we inquired with him if he saw something odd or something else, he explained what he as doing and that was our experience, than started to notice the same type of interaction elsewhere. We were all in compliance, so no biggie and thought it was actually a good thing. Now with the online purchasing, it can be not as obvious of course......but with the stiff penalties, you seem to hardly hear about this in QC - which of course is what this thread is all about! Most if not all here would love to see the penalties significantly higher and I am sure there is a reason why they are not - honestly not sure why, maybe someone could explain that though?
  19. Or just maybe the penalties that QC has is the reason for higher level of compliance locally !
  20. The only places we have witnessed this is smaller northern QC towns - the thing is, I do not think QC has the same problem we have have with "locals" scamming or disrespecting the system, they tend to have more respect for the sport or perhaps that life style that they take far more serious than people in ON as whole.
  21. I have found that enforcement in QC is also done in some areas by the local businesses at gas stations and restaurants by people serving you...making sure you are in compliance - likely experienced that more that trail side checks by the QPP. Ghurst and surrounding area can be bad for multiple trail or road side checks in a fairly small area & window by different officers - can get annoying, but such is life. Lake Simcoe and surrounding area used to see a fair amount of OPP traffic - not sure that is still the case as of late. Otherwise, it does seem you do not run into them all that much - but lately I tend to get my rides in early so I am off the trails by mid-afternoon when they tend to be more active. And we all now know that if you want to see some good OPP enforcement, just have the local health twit for that region shut the trail system down and they come from miles around to ensure all are abiding the "laws".......
  22. It is a just a start - stepping stone in the direction many want to see and go......so an exciting achievement for many. It will be a while yet before it becomes mainstream, just like any other process when people are looking for this type of modification. Local shops or guys with the knowledge and interest will piggy back off of this as time passes.....bringing the cost and timeline down at some point.
  23. There is no mention of how many beers it took for this.....3 or 4 beer job I was going to mention inspection of the skid & drive bearings, idler wheels and sliders.....but already noted. I would consider shock rebuild if not done yet as well.
  24. Not to get off topic.....but do we wonder why he has the followers he does that perhaps share the same ethics in life and where things are at. Really is extreme poor taste - time & place for things and having the sense to know when and where that is......
  25. Yes, he was very passionate about many things that he shared on the forums.....his career / work in data centers or the city of TO workers and of course when it came to his back & fourth bantering with Failmaker or Zoso - one of the things I always remember about him on the one of the other forums, it was usually quite comical!
