  1. Are you sure the torsion arm is not moving? Measure the end of the arm to the chassis and write down the measurement. Then give the trailer a bit of an overload and measure again. If the measurements are different then the axle is likely working as intended.
  2. The torsion arm is integral with the “square” tube that twists inside the four rubber “springs”. If any one or two of the rubber “springs” crack, break or sag out, the torsion arm and tube usually go to the negative camber and toe out direction. Hence tire west on the inside tread. There is no repair for these situations except axle assembly replacement.
  3. Yes. I am pretty sure I know exactly where that is. I guess the twenty year pattern might make a huge snowfall event to be this year since we really didn’t have one in the last few years
  4. That would be 1964 and 1984. I was in the middle of it both times
  5. Did my one commercial vehicle a while ago. $265.00 and I no longer operate my business. Them new rules sure do make a difference! 😡🤬
  6. Thanks for the heads up Dave K but I am no longer in Orillia. I am an hour and a half north of that now in good driving conditions. Since my semi retirement, the only reason I go south now is to my boat, doctor and hospital appointments or buying needed items. Somebody had a problem in King City last Sunday and I had to go down to resolve it and I really disliked going/being there. I will stay north as much as I can.
  7. Sorry. Not interested in driving 200 miles to get undercoating done. I have always got it done in late spring to early summer.
  8. PLC. I think he means Krown but that would be a dangerous assumption. I used Krown exclusively for years on my 1999 GMC dually and it saved the truck from corrosion all this time. Trouble is, that franchise was sold to another person/company and their workmanship sucks and I haven’t found another dealer that has any better workmanship. Now I am looking for any company regardless of product where the workmanship is acceptable.
  9. I agree with you ski. I have been on Cats since Rupp built their last sled.
  10. In a business world that will charge what the market will bear, I will not condemn any business making a profit and nobody has the right to dictate how someone runs their business. If that is what it takes to profit then everybody has the right not to buy there. If in fact there was any volunteer bashing then that is a horse of a different colour. Under absolutely NO circumstances should a volunteer ever be bashed for trying to do for the greater good. BTDT
  11. Premium fuel helps against pre ignition and detonation. It does not burn hotter but it burns longer to get the most available power out of the length of the piston travel. Especially useful for engines with knock sensors. Computer will advance to ignition timing until it hears the knock sensor then backs up the timing or adds fuel depending on the input of other sensors. Think of it this way. A hot fire ( regular fuel ) will fire like a fire cracker. One loud band and it is consumed. Premium fuel is like burning paper. You can watch it be consumed in real time and not in a rush. Preignition results in the melting of the top of the piston. Could be anywhere on the piston that it melts. Can also be caused by lean burn or hot carbon deposits or incorrect spark plug heat range. Detonation is where the centre of the piston is literally imploded on itself and you see stress cracks around the hole. The hole in the piston is literally dynamited into it. That is where premium fuel would help prevent that situation. Ask me how I know all this. It was expensive!
  12. Boats are cheaper than cottages in Muskoka and slip fees are cheaper than the taxes on said cottages. Besides, if you don’t like your neighbour, start the engine and go somewhere else. I do go along with buying fish though.
  13. Come to think of it, we always have at least 4 vehicles or more so that the two of us each have something to drive!! Lol 😂
  14. I get your point. I tend to have a different view of these things. I look at the serviceability of the things but maybe I should go along with your train of thought and just buy a new one every year or two.
  15. Me thinks you will have a hard time changing his underwear colour to yellow. After having the 4st, I am wondering how it become that you had yours turn yellow!!! Lol
  16. I bought an Arctic Cat ZRT 600 for my youngest many years ago. It looked like a good sled until I looked at the muffler. It was a loud can and those ZRT sleds are loud enough stock. I told the seller I would buy it if he came up with the stock muffler. He shirked for a minute and then I said that I would go home without the sled unless he came up with the stock exhaust. We did go home with the sled. Eventually the sled went to my son-in- law and he put a Modfather sticker on it. I guess it must go faster that way. We got stopped by the OPP in Bracebridge and they had the hood open wanting to know what was modified. It was the second quietest sled in the group. A very quick discussion by me and we were on our way.
  17. Hhhmmmm!!!!!!! No browny points there buddy!!!
  18. Could be you would. Hard to know unless you have an emergency. After years of racing, the natural instinct is to yank the tether.
  19. After reading the letter in earlier posts as well as the stop sell stop ride notice, I agree that it was the best decision.
  20. Not allowed to race without one. The way a bunch of weekend warriors drive, it should be mandatory!!
  21. My Barney had driver to passenger and sled to sled communication as well as Sirius Satellite radio. Much better than singing to myself and yelling at other riders!!!
  22. Mrs. TD. Whatever became of the spring order Polaris. Did it ever become available?
