  1. Not so great in the Timmins area. Here's a pic and comment from their F/B site yesterday: We are out on the trails still trying to get things to freeze and we could really use some snow (snow dance everyone, please!) Here are some shots today from the cab of the Prinoth working with what we have on the A111C.
  2. I have no reason to doubt the ITG in our District or any areas that I ride in in Ontario. There is no doubt in my mind that the ITG is working better than it ever has. If there is a problem with its reliability it is often due to an issue at the club and or district level. If it is a reoccurring problem then contact the club or District involved but remember that you are talking to a volunteer in most club cases at least. If it's your local club then maybe they could use your help with the reporting.
  3. In our area it can be updated at any time by someone with the authority to do so at the district level. We are fortunate in that our District 5 contact will do updates even on her personal time. To my knowledge the Districts are still supposed to do updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays at a minimum.
  4. I don't know if the businesses have to pay to be on the map in Quebec or if it is just up to the clubs to request it be put on the map. Either way, every attempt should be made to have gas locations on the maps especially in remote areas like trail 83. I know that our Trailboss had to arrange to have our clubhouse location and a gas station location put on the Ontario map. I don't know if there was a charge for the fuel stop though.
  5. I'm pretty certain that for a lot of years the individual clubs controlled the status of their trails and put up/took down their trail closed signs accordingly. At present (at least in District 5) I believe it is still a collaboration between each clubs' trail boss and the groomer captain(s). Decision made, one of them will then have someone at the District office change the particular trail status on the ITG.
  6. You can't miss it from the trail (unless the trail has changed). It's almost like the trail is along the edge of their lot. The pumps will be on your left side if you are heading east.
  7. If you don't mind me asking, who said this at the dealer? Was it the dealer principle or Service/Warranty Manager? If not, no attention should be paid. Even if it was one of the ones I mentioned, I would want some guarantee in writing with a signature. JMHO
  8. I didn't say that I agreed with the OFSC's position, only passing on what I was told and have seen the OFSC advertising. I do know that it is often tough getting volunteers to put Trail Closed signs up or taken down in a timely manner.
  9. Good to here. I will likely see you there then.
  10. Yes sir and now a shorter drive for you.
  11. Just so you are aware, I have been made aware that the OFSC no longer wants Trail Closed signs used by clubs. They have in the past and continue to advertise that the Interactive Trail Guide is the correct source to find trail status.
  12. I have read lots of positive comments about Dunlop Lake Lodge on OC. Try putting Dunlop Lake Lodge in the search box on the header. You will find what you are looking for.
  13. If you are ever looking for a rental trailer again, New Star Rentals in the village of Newton have some. I believe the largest one is 20'x 8 6". Here's the website: https://www.newstarrentals.ca/ then put trailer in search box.
  14. Still some grooming happening along the north shore in Quebec and up towards Mt. Valin. There will be lots of choice in Quebec in time for your trip.
  15. Yes it is Nick. It's being held at Greenwood R&G. Starts at 5 PM. You have started my 40 creek drool! LOL
  16. You can take the bypass (Autoroute 30) off Autoroute 20 to get to the southeast side and Hwy 20 east. Just take exit 29 which is the second exit I believe after you enter Quebec on Autoroute 20 and stay in the right lane to Autoroute 30 and the tollbooth. After that it will take you about 40 minutes on the A30 to get to Hwy 20 at Boucherville. Its an awesome way to get past Montreal. Toll with your trailer is about $6.00 I believe. Check the site below out: https://transcanadahighway.com/quebec/montreal-south-bypass-autoroute-30/
  17. I was thinking he would be out beating the forest roads with this new snow. Strange we haven't heard from him. I hope he's OK.
  18. It sure is. Not great even in North Bay although it has gotten better looking for sledders over the last few days.
  19. Open fields are not the issue in this instance. Its the evergreen snow fences that have created the issue seen in the picture.
  20. Merry Christmas to everyone here on OC and your families! Stay safe and have a wonderful Christmas.
