We pay more than that. $3.75/lbs if I remember correctly. Really not much of a fund raiser at these sales levels and with no alcohol sales but it’s something to do. Keeps people involved.

I never rode from home even though the trails did open on my side of KW for a few days. The road rash at Inverhaugh didn't appeal to me after the GRCA debacle. I trailered to St Clements but I still count that as local. I heard you were through the clubhouse and that had been your only ride for the season. Life gets in the way some times.

You make some good points. My wife rides a '12 Vector with a 120 track and sees no need to go bigger but the options are limited even at 129 if you want to stay 4 stroke. And why Polaris is dragging their feet for so long on the 4 stroke front is confusing. Most have forgotten the 750 even existed at this point. I'd need more than the 100hp myself, more like 150-160, but this is a good chunk of the market they leave for Ski-doo. I assume they can't find a cost effective way to compete.

Rode from the trailer in to my shop then the shop to the storage shed. Washed up, greased and stored until next year. Put on about 2000 kms this winter, half of that was local and all rides were in February. Much better than the previous 4 years (as the local trails weren't open). I thought as I got older I would find more time to ride/travel to ride. The reality is if the local trails don't open, I won't ride near as much.

If I remember correctly, the EL3 follows a gas pipeline right of way and the D south of Elliot Lake follows a hydro easement for the most part. The BM3 uses logging roads. I don't remember any of them having much tight bush trail. Not like the F north out of Dunlop Lake.

That area is still open. Durham's Facebook page says they groomed last night and the groomer was still out as of 830am. Wish I had the time to take one more ride.

Are you referring to that V-twin 1000 they came out with? I think the second one was an 800. I've been on 4 strokes for 10 years now. Don't see myself going back to a 2 stroke. I read good things about the Polaris chassis but there won't much hope of one being in my garage unless they put a 4 stroke in it.

Considering January was the warmest ever on record, I feel lucky we were able to ride at all in southern Ontario.

Yes, its pretty sad that 2 weeks of open trails is the best we've had for several years in our area. Let's hope that the weather people are right and we get all this snow they have promised for Wednesday-Friday.

No worries today. There was fresh snow in the area around Harriston, Cl;ifford, Neustadt, Ayton, around 3 inches. Closer to Durham about an inch. South of Pamerston and Listowel got nothing.

I rode through Listowel on Sunday morning. The bush trails were brown all the way through. Fields were a bit rough but with good coverage. I think that's what you will find in most of southern Ontario. Hopefully with a bit of fresh snow yesterday and some grooming it should be decent. The warm temps and traffic this weekend should kill off most of these trails. I'm heading out tomorrow for a ride, leaving from St Clements.

Due to the fact that parking at the clubhouse is restricted to members. Membership numbers go up and down depending on whether the trails are open or not. This year membership is way up....lol

Monday ended up being the best day for sales at the clubhouse as they sold out of all the food we had available. That said, a few years ago one good Saturday at the clubhouse would have exceeded all the sales from this entire weekend. We plan to be open again this weekend assuming the weather holds. Looks like Sunday's +6 will be a trail killer.

Yes, there are plenty of reasons for a lack of people coming to the clubhouse. The loss of some important trails in the area is definitely one of them.

I worked at the St Clements clubhouse today. We expected decent sales but it was slow. Didn't seem to be many sleds coming through. Clubhouse is open Sunday and Monday for anyone in the area.
