  1. Owner video on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/loggers.house Take out food available and gas. Sit down restaurant closed. Not too many other places in the general area.
  2. Talked to family friends in Montreal. One came home and infected 19. Two in hospital.
  3. Rick Mercer classic:
  4. Pandemic has gone on tooo long when you haven't been to a fast food restaurant in months, the MacD's discount coupons arrive in the mail, and a Big Mac is looking really good.
  5. That's why the study of Economics is called the dark science.
  6. OK if yours expired after March 1, 2020. At ms. slomo's family clinic, still old guys wandering in for their "every four years" check up (fits this forum demographic n'est pas?) and cards expired years ago. Best get things squared away once the over 70's get their vaccinations and the province tries to decide which group is next in line. ...not to say you would be refused, but same as having valid vehicle registration ...why hazard the hassle ? The region in which your card is registered may make some difference in your initial accessibility to the vaccination as more populated areas will probably have priority.
  7. That was a "best guess" CC ...ms. slomo and I have stayed in motels with snow blowing up through a hole in the floor, (Manning, AB and darned if I didn't get stuck there again one time as there was a rodeo in town) lodgings in remote northern communities where you might end up with a complete stranger sharing your double room, and up to some pretty fancy places particularly in Quebec in the winter. I can only say that given some of the complaints I read on various reviews of accommodation, (a certain brand of hair conditioner FFS? I just want a bar of soap that doesn't disappear up the crack of my ass) Grand Tapatoo stands a good chance of being OK. With women. persons. Peoplekind.

They were having trouble with people riding on trails that were not yet open but using the grooming information as to which trails might have snow. (source - Club Lac 3 Salmons) So they have all the grooming as unreported. Trail conditions are still posted though....I am dreadfully afraid this upcoming lockdown and a curfew is going to be problematic for however many days it is in effect.
  9. Drove to Mactier because I like to support the local business, made a mistake thinking wife's car was over due, still had a year on it, updated sled to 2023 because sure as sh*t there will be sledding in March and my valtag would be expired. PAY ATTENTION TO THIS - PULL OUT YOUR WALLET AND MAKE SURE YOUR O.H.I.P. CARD HAS NOT EXPIRED!! You will need it for your covid vaccine shots.
  10. Probably belongs in the Rant thread but why do these charities insist on torturing people? Run up to the top of the CN Tower and then send money to a charity? Just send money. Unless of course you have a charity for those who ruptured themselves, suffered muscle and bone injuries, or had a heart attack while participating in a charity fund raising event. Hmmm.... too bad all the good ribbon colours have been used up....
  11. Yes, that is correct. Not sure how I got those two mixed - have camped at both. I should also mention Grand Tapatoo....has been through a couple of name changes but might still be upscale enough for the women... http://www.grandtappattoo.com gtserider is correct about the Trapper's Choice regards the difficulty of access....the Alt C trail runs behind the (former) Parry Sound Mall and it is sometimes thin with any warm spell, not to mention the large parking lot you need to cross. I am going to take a look at that area sometime as we used to trailer and drop from the PSMall parking lot and head to the Nobel area. There have been significant changes to the proximate intersection which might hinder sled travel - use to be a pathway in front of the GM dealer, now I am not sure about that.
  12. Fairly busy during hunting season - looked closed yesterday driving by but probably temporarily due to lock down. It is now a Super 8 - a search might turn it up as another brand - Quality Inn? Join hotel rewards and get some points. Best to give them a call - would echo 02sled's concern about an open restaurant as it is not near anything else for food. Deal at facebook page listing for PDSD: https://www.facebook.com/ParrySoundSnowmobileDistrict/ In sort of the same neighbourhood - H and H resort and restaurant on trial has restaurant - lots of trailer parking down by the restaurant but need sherpas to carry your stuff up to the motel rooms though: http://hhresort.ca Found another one - Log Cabin Inn - on the trail close by - won't post prices ? https://www.logcabininn.net Looks like there is some new construction at the old Whitmore (sp?) close by Grundy Lake park entrance and across the street from the trail. Sledjunk found the rooms a bit small there, but maybe with renovations the place is going to improve. Liked the restaurant myself.
  13. I was down Mactier way yesterday and not far from the Cove sits a large lonely plastic culvert on which the trail usually runs in a swamp in three feet of unfrozen water. Uggg.
  14. Looks like the pull start cord got stuck on a mighty start attempt and the machine was flung into the woods. Did it myself a few times until current sleds had electric start. And that was on a lumbering jackass of an Arctic Cat touring sled .... Ox probably has a few similar stories.

Often wondered about the Chimo - we stayed there year's ago waiting for the Polar Bear Express to Moosonee. Was okay then and about what I expected now. Thanks for the trail reports and the accommodation updates!
  16. Your riding style and machine are just fine TD. I have no complaints. As a matter of fact I find your attitude quite refreshing given what I see on sledcore mulisha and others of that ilk. Are you still upset I drank your beer by mistake in New Liskeard? I thought I had apologized for that year ago. Better days ahead...you know it.
  17. That was a joke son...I like you and provided your riding style and machine does not get trails closed, you are my new best friend...ahhhhaah
  18. I would expect a different type of industrial nation accounting to result as most of the world is in the same situation. If you look at the Canadian debt incurred fighting World War II the increase in productivity via war industries and increases in the Canadian technological base (prior to WWII 47% of Canadians worked in agricultural domains...this significantly lessened for the decade following) made a huge difference in paying off war debt. World money fund partners might decide on some sort of "resett" of balances. Prior to the pandemic, there was evidence of this being considered when the negative interest rate phenomenon became apparent. Another scenario is based on a cyclical gradual paying off of debt balances on a rotational basis from richer countries accepting the debt of poorer countries in stages. Not sure what Biden being elected has to do with it, (above) but with baby Trump gone, the increase in world political stability and that of the financial markets will make things easier.
  19. Knew the Lonies who I think owned this place originally? Thanks for the update.
  20. Good Excellent job on the non-repeat of the pictures TD! - now about that spelling and grammar....
  21. Imagine hitting this in a blinding snow storm...trail is not that far off.... the maze might be fun though..
  22. That's what I heard as well - a piece of 5/8 or 3/4 inch plywood over it helps.
  23. And to you as well. Good advice on your part! If in doubt, don't be in doubt! After December 1, I renewed our outdoor cards / fishing licenses on line - arrived in mail 4 days later. I think the MNR appreciated having something to do at the office.
  24. I did not know a lot of people there so not sure who this is. Look familiar to you?
  25. Reminds me of a saying from a book about the mafia and Jimmy Hoffa - "I Heard You Paint Houses" ...when someone suspects some "harm" from someone else ......"if in doubt, don't be in doubt".
