  1. I like the Top A ...it holds fond memories of my first ride of the season for 6 out of the last 8 years, usually Christmas day, while others languish uselessly with their families. ug. Leaving the Advantage or the Apollo motel and heading west toward Hearst feels like an old friend after 9 months of no riding. I have done the other trails too....just letting you know so I don't get dumped into that low "tourist" level of the sledding hierarchy - a big bruise to my self esteem...thanks revrnd...but the A trail will always have a special place in my heart. Gonna ride it tomorrow morning as a matter of fact. Four inches of new snow, -20 or so this evening, trails should be deep and crisp and even.
  2. Surely you're not disputing this are you? Toronto Star...look it up... "Over the past four years, Skelly and his corporation have been convicted for operating without a licence a total of three times: Once in March of 2017, once in December of 2017 and once in September of 2019." Ribs and roaches combo plate this week... Citizens! To the barricades! oooops....donate to my Just Fund Me page....it's great how there are a cluster of useful idiots who's first response is to throw away money without any idea as to where it is going to be spent. Did you know that 3/4 of the money donated by such means for the Malaysian tsumami or the earth quake in Haiti was never spent? Funny eh? It was a natural disaster and ....there was no place to buy anything! The only legitimate helpers were military support such as Canada's D.A.R.T. and the Red Cross who came equipped with the proper disaster relief. For other relief orgs, it was a good occasion to take pictures of their tents and white SUV's for future publicity. Kind of like the commercial...Woodstock festival! Tampax was there. Facts. No charts. Now what was that Spiderman was saying about the blind following the blind....people blindly following whatever...whatever. Here's hoping Mr. Skelly is soon behind bars humming "I fought the law and the law won".
  3. yep, ran a restaurant without a business license - nice way to get out of health inspections. Like cock roaches with your ribs? Special this week...
  4. Took a tour down that way last week - trail passes by quite a few nice homes who are enjoying being on the waterfront and probably couldn't care if the trail is groomed or not. The impression I got was that many of the streets there were labelled as private drives. In my opinion it is too bad they don't open up parts of the water front to the general public I kept an eye out for business signs and they were there, but in my opinion, access from the trail to them was sketchy or breaks from the trail to them did not correspond with the signs. The 20 kph speed limit was a disincentive as well and I am not using the name "slomo" for nothing. But at least the trail is open and thus has potential. The trail ends sort of downtown, but sadly had to pick up my Raspberry Berliners from McGuires donuts later by truck. You really don't expect a guy who orders 2 dozen jam filled donuts to walk the distance to the store do you?
  5. Nice report! Sounds like you know your food! It's great when someone takes the time to do a report like this as it gets other readers interested in the place and doing a bit of research to see if it suits their vacation types. Thanks again!
  6. No offence to whits-end or anyone else here....but he certainly has more medical qualifications than anyone on this forum if you don't mind me saying so. Having a specialization takes more schooling as well. Where did everyone here showing charts and spouting quackery get their medical degrees? BTW - the danger of the variants is that a person showing no symptoms goes longer before showing symptoms than in previous iterations and is infectious to others for a longer period of time without knowing it. Fact. No charts.
  7. If the Cartier Moose Loop is any indication, I would say trails deserve green status with some thin spots. Might have more to say later regards other areas. (some darn steep hills in the area would need studs of some kind to let yourself down them slowly)
  8. The Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce is calling for the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health to provide the stats behind his decision to extend the lockdown in the Health Unit’s region. On Friday, the Health Unit confirmed that the Stay-at-Home order along with the shutdown would remain in effect for the region until February 22nd, 2021, joining Toronto, Peel, and York regions. In a joint letter sent today to Dr. Jim Chirico, PSACC President Gail Burrows and Executive Director Christy Cafovski on behalf of the Chamber, formally requested “empirical data to support the continued lockdown of our community”. https://radioworkzparrysound.com/2021/02/16/parry-sound-area-chamber-of-commerce-calling-for-data-from-the-health-unit-justifying-extended-lockdown/
  9. Consider this place to stay - https://www.logosland.com Self contained fully equipped motel suites on the cross of two trails - good deals in the winter and for some reason practically deserted? Good spot.
  10. Keep an eye on district 6 as well...should be more green after the snowfall this morning.
  11. Opens up some trailside possibilities - good work revrnd! Posting map for a friend. Blake.
  12. Check with wildbill at Rosseau Rd. for parts - I got some Rouski parts from him when my springs went.
  13. zoso - do those drivers on the "Ice Road Truckers" shows get a premium rate for driving or what?
  14. Nice report revrnd!
  15. Sometime during the history of this forum, it was suggested that a special section for women be created complete with separate passwords etc. This idea was immediately poo poohed by Slow Touring Guy as being missogji.. missognistyk...myssoginistic....bad for women...arguing that as equal members of society they should be subject to the same amount of abuse as those male members. (no pun intended) Recent political polls suggest that Erin O'Toole, federal Conservative leader, is not liked by women. You are a woman. Please fix this. Or we are stuck with Trudeau again. Thanks.
  16. ...... ......yep, no more going on about those nice looking weather channel personalities eh?
  17. Are you able to get location and boundaries using google maps? For example: Hope this helps. Is there a snowmobile trail near by?
  18. | I remember a trip to Prince Edward County back in 2013.....cross country skiiers, horse people, dog walkers, etc. woke up to this \/ one Saturday morning on the MilleniumTrail.... | and were sure happy when this \/ occurred ..... Hope the club can get things sorted out eventually. I think Barbech was there that weekend....
  19. Having worked in the industry for over a decade I can tell you that the CBC is the VERY BEST news organization in the world after the BBC. You people and your phuckued conspiracy theories. And to quote Rebel News??..... Just keep blowing it out your asses boys if it keeps you going.
  20. Someone is going to get a good deal. That would be perfect for hauling a disabled sled up onto a trailer or ramp - I installed four mounting bolts through the floor at the front of my trailer onto which the winch I have can be mounted- easily hooked up to a 12 volt sled battery.
  21. Interesting concept - as having some familiarity with driving NWT ice roads the faster you went, the better chance you set up a standing wave on the ice which eventually led to collapse and immersion. These would be cars and trucks of course. If ice was marginal it would seem to make sense that a sled might not have the weight to create an ice wave, but static, might break through. It has been my observation that it is usually the second sled going into the water following the first - I could be corrected on that though.
  22. IMO Like it or not a world wide reset is about the only thing that is going to get world economies back on track....difficult to imagine but any number of scenarios might take place depending on the ability of the major economies to get along.... for instance....saw once on Star Trek ... the world system evolved so that every one got jobs they wanted, nobody got paid, but everyone got what they needed. There was a novel where evil people high jacked the computer systems of the world's stock exchanges and banking systems (later turned into a plot for one of the Die Hard movies), the plot was stopped but what to do then? Everyone decided to go back to three days before the attack on the system, there was a brief hesitation, then everything started up again from that point on.... Steve Jobs worked this way in innovation...was thinking of the final solutions and worked Apple products toward them.
  23. Is that dog wearing a mask?? We were in pre-covid times, we are currently in war time covid times and will eventually get to post covid times...I think most folks are basing their current opinions on the past pre-covid times experience. BTW most legitimate news outlets reporting that Ontario case count is lowering. Lock down is having some effect.
  24. It is too bad he looks like a thumb...a comparison also made to country and western star Garth Brooks....however, Erin O'Toole is fluently bilingual, a lawyer, graduated from Royal Military College and served in the RC Air Force as captain. Hardly a moron and probably the most qualified candidate for Prime Minister of them all. If people could only get past how he looks. It might not matter if Trudeau continues on his stupid ways and has to wear the bungling of vaccine distribution.
