    • That's fantastic news. If trails open for Xmas break I bet dealers can sell sleds, more permits. Weather helping for sure.
    • Tough doesn’t mean not possible.  just means tough decisions need to be made for sport longevity and in a better position for the lean years.  I agree that cutbacks need to happen - costs are up, ridership has shrunk, new blood is at a premium.  bail out is nice, but plan for nothing next year or the year after and action accordingly.
    • Tough sport/activity to plan ahead for when we can't control the Weather, or control the Economy for Volunteers and Permit Buyers to comfortably participate, we also can't control reasonable legislation to make Landowners comfortable to participate. What we can do is keep buying a permit to invest in the trail system, get involved and volunteer to help make the best of it, whether it's brushing, grooming, decision and policy making, marketing ... ect.  Sometimes cut backs just have to happen to survive, and sometimes an external bail out comes our way 🍻
    • EARLY permits sales are reported to be up. That doesn’t mean anything more than that.
    • lol, that is not what I meant, Rick! I referring to whatever the future will be, good or bad - this year the 4 mil the tax payers coughed up will help ease the pain and hopefully fix some of the issues most were very disappointed with, but it’s a bandaid, I’m talking about the plan shared to weather the storms now and tomorrow for the future of Ontario sledding.  I agree 110%, things look very optimistic this year with weather and unofficial reports that permit sales are up.   Year to year I actually don’t have targets to hit, just get out and ride when able to, where conditions allow and always enjoy it! I don’t get down about the environment of sledding, appreciate that I can do it, but when you see/hear people getting down about the sport, etc…it’s not what you or anyone wants to see of course.
