    • Of course our out to lunch out of touch liberal gov totally screwed our country over for the last 10 years in every way. But to not think Trumps wacky on and off tariff policies are not further effecting our economy is a bit of a stretch.    As I said I don't feel decreasing the trail system was the right direction to go in, I think there was other avenues to take. But I'm no longer involved in putting the volunteer time in to try and make things happen as I feel they should. But totally understand why the choices that were made were made, they're not out to lunch or irrational, they're just not choices I would have made ....    Personally my plan would have been pausing/limiting a % of grooming hour funding for each district to keep pace with current seasonal permit sales. It would of left the door open for outside operational funding to be done locally by clubs and districts, and for districts and clubs to pick and choose where they centered their grooming efforts on the fly, taking landowners, weather/trail conditions and ridership in consideration.
    • maybe, I am not saying it’s not, it may work. And I hope so. I really do.   but……. If it doesn’t, what are we doing? What are we thinking about, where are we going to go IF that happens.   I hope, and want to believe those conversations and critical thinkings are happening, but if I make those assumptions on optics from what’s gone on to date, I am not confident it is.
    • I’d be curious to know about QC sales but from those I know in QC and how they live their lives, I’d say no effect.
    • Maybe hunkering down and running lean to weather the current crap storms is the right thing to do ?   Hopefully we have another great snow season this year and it increases permit sales during and in the back end of this season,  and sets the stage for further increases next season. Though if the economy keeps dumping and we see further decreases, then we are already a step head in the right direction.    Will Quebec's price increase this season off set things for them to run a normal season ? Will it effect their permit sales, especially after a couple crappy snow seasons for them last year by their snow standards ?    I don't know if you guys noticed, but there's a reason sled dealers are sitting on more old stock then we've ever seen, and Yamaha bailed on sledding. These things are happening globally, not just in Ontario.
