Re:Leaf
I've only stayed at Blue Spruce Resort on oxtongue lake in dwight. They call it a cottage resort and motel. You can rent fully equipped cottages or rooms in the motel with full kitchens. Very clean and friendly staff.
slomo
Have a look at this place too: https://www.dwightvillagemotel.com/ Sled friendly owners, trail access, whiphy, large rooms, close to amenities. Found a great attitude when I dropped in on a visit.

killer
For a week, it may be best to rent a cottage, lots available with good trail and lake access. You should be able to get into a nice spot for under $1000 for a week, but many resorts offer cottage style accomodations with full kitchens, etc as well. Oxtongue has a few, but that is closer to Dwight. Dorset and north Haliburton are good areas to stay as it offers you the ability to head in a little wider variety of directions: Whitney, Barry's bay, Bancroft, Haliburton, Fenelon Falls, are all within a day trip away, in addition to most of Muskoka and Almaguin. some local resorts and inns: http://www.thenordicinn.com/ http://www.loraleacountryinnresort.com/ http://www.sandylaneresort.com/ http://www.oakviewlodge.com/ http://kennisiscottagerentals.com/ http://www.ontariocottagerental.com/winter_cottage_index%202010.htm

Doogirl69
There is also the Algonquin Inn across the river from Blue Spruce Resort. http://www.algonquininn.com/ Before looking there check out the TripAdvisor page for Algonquin Inn. Blue Spruce is the better choice. Also I heard that the Dwight Village Motel won't be open this winter. Best place to find accommodations id check out the local clubs website or map and support the ones who support the club.

Dwight Village Motel will be open this winter.... "Yes, we will be open this winter. All rooms have two double beds, foru piece washroom, microwave, refridgerator, in room coffee, colour television and free WI-FI. The room rate based on double occupancy is $99.00 per night. There would be an additional charge of $10.00 per extra person after the original two. I look forward to having the opportunity of welcoming you to the Dwight Village Motel this winter. Kind Regards, Brad Smith Owner/Operator" revrnd - maybe you were thinking of the Riverside Motel in Dwight which does close over the winter? I wouldn't want to ride there for awhole week! There trails are tight, very twisty and can't see on coming traffic at all during day. During week is ok, weekend it is nuts! Why not travel around the area abit and stay in different places!

Why not travel around the area abit and stay in different places! yet another piece of poor advice from you, you've obviously never really ridden the area or are confusing it with somewhere else. Most of the trails are wide forest access and logging roads. Like Bill says, lots of areas to explore, in every direction. Bancroft, Haliburton, Barry's Bay, and all places in between are all lunch stops. Kearney, Sprucedale, all of Muskoka, around lake of bays, etc. the area is easily one of the best to stage for the Rap if you can find a parking spot... Tall Pines trails are awesome. Very wide for the most part and easy to see oncoming traffic. There are some tight sections but the quality of grooming and general area makes up for the tighter sections.
