Jumbo wings that st clements usually sources locally aren’t even available in retail store at my current processor. All going to pubs and restaurants for a premium no doubt. Brazil usually ships in lots of wings into our market too, but I think covid thrown a wrench into shipments it seems. St clements has always sourced its chicken wings from a local business in town too, they usually carry large brazil Wings too.

Yeah been a wing shortage more Canada’s are buying them and cooking at home. Chicken live price has been rising because of feed cost and now processors been pushing back hard on size of the bird. My target is 2.1 to 2.4 kg’s. Give them a 2.45 and you never hear end of it 😂. We use to have an incentive for size of 4 cents a kg for proper size. Now they just bulley yeah into giving them proper size. I think they forget it is a live product and breeder age of chicks very greatly for us too, which affects size. But no point trying to slow them down if they are growing to fast, because that costs money and time and no incentive now. Fun times. Time for a new contract since my current company is a huge headache for me 😂.

How are wing nights going? Hopefully turn out is good for last year 😀

What happened to you last year? Southern Ontario had a good year compared to most past years. I got in about 7 or so weeks of riding here in north d5 and south and central d9. Lots of members got record km’s here at home last year?

Will a 15 to 20% increase in fuel prices impact the sled season?

I know you will take it in March and ride it until April, then trade it on 2023 like you always doo. Hopefully we can ride local trails this winter again 👍 -
Be ware princess uses Carile tires. good year marathons are nice trailer tires, if you can source them.

Yikes. You might need new rollers and pins for safety sakes. A good brp dealer can check it over and replace pins, rollers. Haven’t done four stroke yet, but did etec at 10,000 km’s. Cost was around 350 or so including labour. Parts about half that and comes in a kit. If there are any physical crackers better to get a new clutch. Good luck.

Sled wheels or dollies for short driveway runs this winter???
Strong Farmer replied to Candubrain's topic in Main Clubhouse
I think real aggressive riders don’t like wheels and I have heard of a few cases of them coming down, when people jump sled like in Bryan’s case. Also complaints about throwing powder snow too at rider. Lots of people like them too. Never had them so been sitting on fence about getting them. So far carbides seem to last 10,000 km’s. -
Yeah I am still waiting for first good frost. Might be November before that happens. Jack must have worked to hard last winter and can’t get out of bed early this year. So another few weeks of summer it is 🤣.

Where is kris maybe he could make some custom sets for us all 👍 -
That’s what I hate about traveling. Never know if room going to be there or not. Especially in these small remote towns, where miners could take all rooms at last minute, since they are regular customers.

That cold be it too. Wish there was an easy answer. I seen this when I went hiking last week. Not one person off the trail either

Sled slides pretty easy with boots on, front end wise. Rolls real nice out of trailer without catching, both ways too. If you have a studed Track you are better off with wheels though as far as garage floor goes. -

I can get one. On sled now. Only issue with them if you put two sleds side by side into a trailer won’t be enough clearance to do that with boots on. -

Dollies are in corner collecting dust now. I drive right into boots outside put a nylon pin there the ski loop. Drive right in Garage and back right out. No more turning sled around or pushing it. Water ruins dollies in a hurry too and they always fell off too. Great for loading sled into a truck or trailer bed too. No more catching or carbide damage. -
That happened to me in dub too. Had a room with two double beds. When I Arrived they gave room to two guys that just walked in before us, no reservations. I was in line waiting. Had to sleep on fold out bed. It was decent though and they gave me an extra foam mattress. At least I got a room or be a longer ride to wawa that day. Few 👍

At least they are trying something new. Maybe ofsc insurance company insisted on video to hold rates steady? Who knows!

I know what you are saying. Imagine districts would book some fuel especially central and north regions. South might be to unpredictable to take advantage of it. Most times fuel is cheaper in winter anyways, then other times a year. Wouldn’t be smartest thing to do with current prices I suppose.
-
Ofsc will get it cheaper no doubt. Dyed is still cheaper then regular gas. I am sure they would book some diesel a year in advance, so price might be locked in lower then current values are too, for a portion of annual fuel bill.

I think you will see more young people just riding when weather is good. A nice sunny day not really going to stop anyone from using credit card, young or old to buy fuel to ride. 👍 -
I have never been in since Jack left and new owners took over. Have to give it a try again. Edge water has been good for food too. Two places usually work together and stager their closing days, so sledders can get food and fuel.

High carbon taxes won’t last on heating fuels. Government will come up with some sort of rebate system for consumers, like they did with hydro. Wood is becoming popular again it seems in our area. I might spring for an outdoor dual furnace in future if natural stays high. My heating bill would have to go over 30k before I do that though. 👍 -

Snowmobiles are pretty efficient today. It might affect how far average snowmobiler trailers though, since that is expensive part of fuel bill compared to actually riding it. I ride local when I can and won’t worry about sled fuel costs at all. -
Diesel would be 50 percent more no doubt. Never had a diesel mower yet even though we have dyed diesel. I still have gas tractors for poultry barns, since top floor can’t handle weight of a diesel either. Engine is direct injected efi not a carb model. So instant starts and adjusts for temperature etc. Seems to burn around 4.5L on hour.
