Apparently we are one of the worst, when you look at carbon output per person v/s carbon output per country. Makes sense though, nothing is close by, we need a vehicle, we need heat in the winter, and because of our small population we cannot support mass transit like there is in Europe. We seriously looked at buying a EV this past August as our 14 yr old Honda was getting tired. We ended up buying another 4 cylinder. instead Here's why That 400km range in real life is about 150km in winter, because of pushing through slush and snow plus defrost and heating the cabin drain on the battery One particular brand required you to change the drive motor(s) coolant every 15,000km plus the filter every 30,000kms. I guarantee that change will be more than any regular oil change EV's burn through tires quicker plus they use a heavy duty tire which is more expensive Several states in the US charge a yearly fee to make up the revenue loss of fuel sales that are used to maintain the roads. It's either Utah or Colorado puts a GPS unit in your EV and you are charge 1.3cents per mile. Saskatchewan has adopted a yearly fee Battery technology is changing very quickly. Guarantee that you'll get nothing for your trade in 5 yrs as it's old tech and nobody wants it. Thats why you see so many Nissan Leafs sitting on the lots.....a good vehicle.....but old tech no one wants Broken, busy and wide spread of charging areas, especially if you live in a rural area Battery efficiency drops yearly....say goodbye to your 400km range If I lived in an urban area, then an EV as a second vehicle makes sense. For me my 58mpg on the highway vehicle makes more sense.

Can't answer your question specifically, but I can tell you I went with the KLIM heated glove as they offered the longest battery life I have Raynauds, muffs, heated grips and heated gloves combo is a must or I can't ride

Well call me stupid, using this link and some Jethro Bodine math I can now understand why the price spread Regular with E10 is $0.904 per litre on the truck. add 52% mark up and the pump price is $1.37.4 Premium with E10 is $1.099 + 52% mark up and the pump price is $1.67.1 The difference is $0.297 or 30 cents In the end.....someone in the middle east in getting rich and I'm getting poorer.....lol

I recently filled up at a Circle K that sells Shell fuels in Listowel Ontario. Premium (91 octane) was $0.32 more than regular.......can you say gouging? This summer the spread at most stations has been 25-26 cents, in the spring it was 22-23 cents, going back a couple years 12-15 cents was the norm in Ontario, whether you bought top tier brands or no name gas. August of 2022, I was in Rocky Harbour, NFLD at a Shell Station, the spread was only 5.1 cents more, see attached photo Is this common among all provinces? What many folks forget is that we went from having the 2nd lowest hydro rates in North America (only Quebec was cheaper) to one of the most expensive. This was the result of the break up of Ontario Hydro. Mike Harris did this, blaming Ontario Hydro for having such a huge debt. What he didn't say was the debt was the mortgage on building Darlington and the principal owing was being reduced yearly. When Pickering was build there was a mortgage (debt), it was paid off, ditto for the Bruce and the debt was progressively being paid off for Darlington. The break up of Ontario Hydro was nothing more than a scam to put money in the pockets of the BAY St. The LCBO is next, soon to be followed by private health insurance. Sir Adam Beck saw this same bullshit going on 130 yrs ago and formed Ontario Hydro to stop the gouging and profiteering, Ontario Hydro was mandated to sell at cost, and it did. The problem is not the cost of oil, not the cost of food, not the taxes we pay, or the high interest rates. The problem is the people that actually do the work are not being paid a high enough wage. Henry Ford realized that if he paid his workers more, then they could go out and buy a new sofa, or car or stove and motivate the entire economy so that more people would have money to buy his cars. Take a drive around Bolton and see the mega homes, or drive anywhere and see all these huge estates in the country. Who owns them? Where did these people get the money? Bet they have employees making minimum wage and holding down 2 jobs, relying on food banks and living in substandard conditions. The rest of us wouldn't need to be tipping 25~ 30% to help out the workers if their employers paid them properly. There my friends is the real problem......quit blaming this politician or that party......they're all the same.....saying anything to get your vote. Hard lesson learned for me. 16,000Kms on my 900Ace. Motor has been great, but I've spent quite a bit....shocks, bushings, primary rebuild, skis, idler bearings.....now at the end of the season.....both jack and drive shaft bearings, rebuild secondary, fuel sock, fuel filter. Much of what I've spent is in prevention rather than waiting for a breakdown. Funny part is I'm still running the original belt. On the other hand with the upgrades to suspension and skis has made this a great ride

How about the ITG.....who thought a yellow marked trail on a pale yellow background was a great idea? Change the background to black....cant be that hard to do

Apparently the OPP were handing out trespassing tickets yesterday, even though the ITG showed the trails were open. Town bylaw since 1992, no sledding between 11pm and 7am. Was there 2 weeks ago for an overnighter on a saddlebag run. Zero complaints, free breakfast. Had the restaurant from the town next over deliver pizzas and beer.........much better than walking in -31C.....lol

A group of us want to make another hurrah for this year. Some of the reviews I've read on the forum are old. Sudbury area, we prefer a motel/ lodge/ inn with an attached restaurant, licensed would be a bonus but not a deal breaker. Two weeks ago we stayed at the Riversdale in Alban.....that was great, but we want to do the Sudbury loops this time. thanks brian
