  1. As it’s a not for profit if a company donates equipment or time do they receive a charitable tax donation receipt?
  2. How did that impact warranty? Somewhere they get your money.
  3. Your clamshell mounted on the Triton flatbed and loading with a ramp would be much easier and better then a tilting clamshell. After using a rear ramp hybrid and now inline trailers I would quit the sport before going back to a tilting clamshell.
  4. Will the Covid pricing for used continue to be higher then normal this fall? How many spring order customers are relying on big used prices to help pay for the new sled? How many are trading in or selling a sled privately? Or are a new buyer? How many OFSC permits were purchased last winter? How many more new shedders can join the sport? It would be interesting to know the total number of spring orders across the board to compare to previous years full sales.
  5. So with potentially 10 - 20% of the spring orders failing on financing dealers will be on hook for those sleds. If there is suddenly 700 - 1000 or more new sleds dropped on market there could be deals to be had as dealers try to get inventory cleared. It could be the reverse of this year. Used sleds demand would be high especially for those who cannot get financing on new.
  6. I will have to check at work what we get. At a previous employer we did not make margin on warranty parts. Small construction equipment supplier dealing with smaller manufacturer. Then again maybe I was misled by owner also.
  7. Dealers have to apply for warranty consideration. Sometimes they are refused and either have to fight for it or bill customer for repair or eat the cost of repair. And the factory gives the warranty parts to dealer but dealer does not make margin on these parts. only makes money on the Labour on the warranty repair. And warranty repair might be at a set rate for labour on a repair while labour might be higher if they run into an issue during the repair. Its better for a dealer to do a customer billed job as they make money on parts and labour.
  8. Those pancake machines used to be in a couple of the hotel chains breakfast buffets. Seen them many times in northern Ontario and Quebec. They replaced the waffle makers that were forever a mess.
  9. conditions may have to improve. One big hazard right now.
  10. I think I know where to find you
  11. The worst thing these days about selling parts is you can stock a good sized inventory but someone will come in and expect that you carry every piece on a sled or bike and have some obscure part and if you don’t have it they get all pissy and start bad mouthing you all over the Internet.
  12. Inventory management and dead stock costs big money for a small business. What if you bring in 5 pieces and sit on 2 for 2 years. No money in dead stock for the one guy who wants a deal on the old part sitting for 2 or 3 years. And with couriers now being fairly quick to deliver ordering parts overnight is Pretty easy. Don’t forget that newer inventory management systems allow dealers to know what parts are in stock at factory parts warehouse immediately. It’s a much smoother process. Also internet savvy shoppers have 5 quotes in minutes for the same parts some new some used so dealers not as motivated as prices have to be sharp. People on this site might be willing to pay more for parts but the majority of guys all want cheapest part at discounted price.
  13. We rode from Kap to Hearst on Friday. Took the 155 on way over then went north and took the same trails starting on 163 on way back. I think after all said and done Friday was 480km for us. If not for 123 I was thinking of calling a cab to come get me in Opasatika. I would have brought truck back for sleds. It was brutal beat up. Groomers were out around Hearst Friday but the 8c temps were making it tough.
  14. A buddy and I were in Cochrane Best Western on Wed and switched to Chain of Lakes Motel in Kap on Thursday and Friday. Chain of Lakes was a decent little place. Needs some updating. But clean. And rooms were comfortable for a couple guys. My wife probably would not be impressed to stay there but it is Northern Ontario. My buddy said his wife would not mind it. I guess it’s all in how you choose to experience the stay. Overall good trip with just over 900km in 2 1/2 days which included a hwy 11 shutdown Thursday and a trip to GM dealer. For my my first time riding the area I really enjoyed it. The outer loops were great. I recognized some of the places from pictures that had been posted and the trail Numbers. I do not understand how the outer loops get such limited traffic when the A trail gets beat up pretty good. Thank you to everyone for posting all your travels. It was really interesting seeing places I had read about.
  15. Yes and then your insurance company pays the vast majority do they not? And if your at fault or charged potentially you face insurance rate increases. What would be different with no helmet laws?
  16. So a question for all the pro helmet people: should our health system be burdened with and have to pay the medical expenses for a snowmobiler wearing a helmet who crashes on a OFSC groomed trail in northern Ontario at 135kmh or anything above the 50 hm/h speed limit? If you are going to make exclusions for risky behaviour there will be a very long long list developed!
  17. So where do you recommend for Wed to Sat?
  18. Did they charge you for parking?
  19. Never before have I seen more a-hos riding then Saturday from Haliburton to Whitney and down around Elephant lake back to Haliburton. Who ever the ass on the Red Yamaha that flew past us you deserve a solid beating. And I will happily give it to them. I actually believe the dick was speeding up when going past. No respect for other riders or the trail system. It was pretty amazing the number of sleds on the wrong side of blind corners. More amazing no one was killed that I am aware of so far.
  20. Thanks where do you recommend? First time if if I go.
  21. Are you allowed to book rooms again? or do you need to have an existing reservation?
  22. Starlite 850 Boost will be a big seller. Just something wrong using Starlite name on a high powered boosted sled.
  23. Has it been updated since 2017? Not earlier this year that I could see. On a positive note I saw more green trails on the Carden area today then all season. I am not sure how as what we road Saturday was down to snirt and bear spots.
