Nice looking trails and it sounds like you guys had a nice ride together. Trails are very good in the south this year! Even if Parry Sound district was open, I’m not sure I would even bother travelling. Sooo good down in the south this year!

Thankyou! 120’s are way too much for me. I bought a 83’ 250 bravo for my 9 & 7yr old a few years back and only paid $550 for it. I started them on it when they both were around 5-6yrs old. That thing will go another 35yrs LOL. new and used kids sleds are priced way too high right now. I would love to get her a kitty cat, then a 120 but they’re just too much money for what they are.

Ive been hiding lol. Wife and I have been busy with our 5 week old girl Gabriella, my third, her first. I’ve also been very busy with snow removal as well as riding! Yes, I chose right this time around hahaha! Conditions are fantastic and there’s a lot more snow on the way!

I think I have around 1900kms so far this season. Did 390kms (gps says 383km) yesterday from home. Trails were incredible the entire day! Conditions are the best I’ve seen it in the south since 2013/14.

I’m not sure if your aware, but you know you can trailer right?

North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit ordering area OFSC trails closed
Baylaker replied to Giddy UP's topic in Main Clubhouse
I think once the trails close up Thursday at midnight, all that traffic will end up over in Halliburton & Bancroft areas or further north. Only a matter of time before the same thing happens in those areas. -

I left that page last week, too many idiots. I sold the wife’s sled a couple weeks ago, seriously considering selling mine. Maybe get a couple atvs instead. -
I think we all can agree we need new riders, young and old. Whether or not they want to ride trails or boondockin in the bush is fine with me as long as everyone does their part by respecting the sport and landowners. Want to ride trails? Wait until they’re open and stay between the stakes. Want to ride in the bush? Go for it! Go in areas where it’s permitted, and if you need to take the trails to get there, buy a pass.

That photo has been around for a few years now, still makes you wonder how it actually happened though.

Thankyou sir!

I volunteer my time, sometimes my personal equipment and money, my buddies do as well and I’m sure many of you on this forum do as well...what can we all do to try and limit the amount of trespassing? Are we all just going to sit back and let the sport die off because of these “entitled” or whatever you would like to call them, ruin our sport that all the volunteers work so hard for. I know better & more enforcement would help. Huge fines, sled impounding etc. But let’s not count on that. how do we do it without enforcement?

Sold the wife’s Yamaha viper rtx last week. We (I) rode it for 2 seasons and made money on it. Reason I say “I” is because she didn’t like it, so she rode mine. We only sold it because the new baby girl will be here in a few days or so. Like @RAMSOMAIR said, market is hot right now!

Just a question, I’m sure this has been brought up before, maybe not though...what about getting all sledders to write a simple test? Must pass before you get your season pass. I know there will always be those few bad apples ruining it for everyone, there always has been, but do we think educating people would help? Just throwing an idea out there. How much would it cost to implement a test? Would it even help? Something needs to be done before we lose more trails. I think Ive seen about 5-6 permanent trail closures so far this year and it’s extremely frustrating. We’re all a good bunch here, I’m sure we can all put our heads together and think of something, no?

We used to do that from Bellwood and almost make it up to waldemar. Lots of beer and open water involved. All vintage beater sleds.

So my dad was talking with a guy in the area last week, said guys are running the harbour across the bay to beauseleil island and the stake line isn’t even up yet. Not worth the risk imo. Also said 2 guys went through up around go home bay, not sure if they made it out or not. This season is too risky to be running lakes or big bodies of water. Too many freeze thaw cycles and too much warm weather. I wouldn’t risk it.

I think it’s going to be a while..

I don’t vote, but if I did, I would’ve voted for that reason to. They all screw us in the end, doesn’t matter who ya vote for.

Technically any half ton with a single axle 3500lb trailer needed the yellow stickers. It was such a cash grab. Glad it’s gone for personal use, most homeowners never knew about it anyways... I still need them though.

Diesels are meant for towing heavy loads day in day out and making money. If your not making money with it, there’s no point in owning one unless you get a smoking deal on it. Jmo though diesels do hold their value a bit better also.
-
Diesels are great for towing heavy loads everyday, but the maintenance and costs of repairing a diesel can be expensive. I almost bought a new diesel, but went with the gas engine instead. The 6.0ls are tough as nails and it’s very rare they have any issues.

The 4.8 would’ve definitely been working harder. 6.0 doesn’t break a sweat, does everything I need it to do. The 4.8 was an awesome little truck, was nice and smooth too. 7’ wide trailers are great, you don’t need to extend your mirrors to see behind you, and the trailer is basically the same width as the tow truck. It works for us.

I had a 4.8l Silverado 1500 and using my 7x14 V nose enclosed 6’ high. It used more fuel than my new 6.0l Silverado 2500.

SAD NEWS FROM LAKE CONESTOGA S/C (GRCA ISSUE)
Baylaker replied to PISTON LAKE CRUISER's topic in Club Ontario South
We will be losing a lot of trail this year...so much for sledding from home this year. Trail head is one street over from where I live. Bummer..
