This pic was taken north of Red Lake ON. For those who dont know where it is, the pavement ends there. Its just gravel roads north. Barely any snow there either.

Talked to a buddy in Quebec a few mins ago and he says that St Zenon is expecting 5-10cm tonight and another 10cm tomorrow. If they actually get that much snow they will send the groomer out to start packing.

Yeah. Other than a pocket of snow in the mountains around Mont Valin, there is hardly any snow in Canada. Even the mountain guys in AB and BC are whining about the very low snow conditions.

    Weather

I am not trying to be "Negative Ned" but we are 3-4 WEEKS away at a min from riding in Cochrane by the looks of the 14 day forecast and well into Feb for anything south of North Bay. Water open everywhere and next to zero snow in the long range. I am booked off from Jan 27-Feb 4 to go somewhere and I broke it to my guys that I am not driving to Mont Valin for sketchy trails. If I am driving 15hrs I will throw my Harley in the trailer and drive south and burn $15 of gas a day in my bike vs $200 in my sled.
  5. And they are not selling...... Until we get snow, price doesnt matter. No one is buying period.

Grass showing everywhere around Amqui. We are supposed to go the last week of Jan and and I am not driving 14hrs for marginal conditions.
  7. I was talking to my dealer this am and he said they are not taking any sled trades unless they are absolutely stealing them. The market is shifting so fast no one can react fast enough. He said given the choice of being stuck with a new non current sled or a trade that he has too much money in, he would much rather just hang onto the new one.
  8. I still dont think that is anything amazing. Probably just what its worth. You arent stealing it for that price I sold my 23 850 XRS for $17500 with 1500kms and I thought that it was more than fair for the buyer.
  9. $17500 is no deal for a 22 XCR850, let alone a 650. 22 MXZ850XRS' are lucky to get $14-14500 today. My buddy just sold his 22 900XRS for $14500. It needed a track but he included a brand new take off Ripsaw (not installed).
  10. Wildwood is basically a manure tank. It gets so much run off from the farmers fields that the water becomes unsafe to swim in about June 1 every year. Conestoga isnt much better. We used to take our Seadoos to Conestoga early in the season as the water was warm, but after July 1 you couldnt pay me to jump in that lake. UTRCA or GRCA doesnt care about boaters. Their mandate is to keep the water levels at levels that prevent flooding. My pontoon sits in the water in Port Severn from May 24 to Thanksgiving. I try to pull it out once a summer and clean the logs off but if I dont its not the end of the world.
  11. I am thinking the same thing. Unless I absolutely hate my 24 Lynx, I will be riding it for at least 2 years. My dealer was just telling me that he cant remember selling as many BEST warranties as they have the last 3 months. Lots of guys have decided to hang onto their 21/22s that are running out of warranty and are thinking its cheaper to spend $2K on an ext warranty than $12K to trade machines.
  12. Trying to find insurance on a kids sized dirt bike is just as hard for the last few years. (Desjardins and The Personal are the same company)
  13. Thats pretty high elevation in that area. Probably explains the green trail.
  14. Was that pic really taken today? The quality of the photo looks like it was taken with a potato.
  15. Those EB 97 XC700s were crazy fast. The 98 full productions worked really good but the 97 would smoke them.
  16. The cold weather is a good thing right now to get the swamps and creeks frozen tight. Nothing is worse than 2 ft of snow on top of wet swamps/creeks. There still is lots of time for it to snow. A couple of good dumps and they will be posting yellow trails by Boxing Day.
  17. You are probably right, but the guys in Cochrane are saying that they desperately need snow. They are a LONG way from opening anything up. At least they are getting cold weather to freeze things up.
  18. Yes Expensive. Probably $5/L based on previous years.
  19. Premium pricing is all over the place. I came into Tavistock a few weeks ago and needed fuel in my C8. I pulled up to the pump and saw it was $2.09/L and the gas buddy app told me that 91 was $1.75 in Stratford. Unfortunately, I NEEDED fuel and made sure that I put 10L in it and walked in and told the Manager I would have filled it if he wasnt so crazy on the premium price.
  20. Whats that supposed to mean? Its a lot easier to change it now than it is to lose valuable time/money on a trip because your sock is plugged. My dealer is changing it on all 900 Turbos if they are in for a pre-season and have over 6000kms on the original one.
  21. If I had a 900 Turbo with 5000kms + on it I would be doing the fuel sock as preventative maintenance.

    Permits

If I could only ride from home, I wouldnt have a sled. We are lucky to get 1 or 2 weekends a season where our trails are open. Its actually easier for me to just book 3 long weekends off on my calendar and go than it is for me to take a random Sunday and go for a ride. That being said, by me not buying a permit pretty much guaranteed awesome trails in Perth County this winter.

    Permits

For the 1st time in pretty much forever, I did not order a permit. Thats not to say that I wont at some point, but I am planning on riding in Quebec as much as possible this year. I may just roll the dice and pay the $80 more mid Jan if it looks like can ride locally.
  24. FXR has been posting on their own Social Media sites that there are several fake stores advertising huge discounts and to be forewarned not to buy from them.
