The first time we experienced it years ago we were kind of confused.....we were gassing up at a small full serve station and see the guy checking over our sleds, we inquired with him if he saw something odd or something else, he explained what he as doing and that was our experience, than started to notice the same type of interaction elsewhere. We were all in compliance, so no biggie and thought it was actually a good thing. Now with the online purchasing, it can be not as obvious of course......but with the stiff penalties, you seem to hardly hear about this in QC - which of course is what this thread is all about! Most if not all here would love to see the penalties significantly higher and I am sure there is a reason why they are not - honestly not sure why, maybe someone could explain that though?
-
The only places we have witnessed this is smaller northern QC towns - the thing is, I do not think QC has the same problem we have have with "locals" scamming or disrespecting the system, they tend to have more respect for the sport or perhaps that life style that they take far more serious than people in ON as whole.
-
I have found that enforcement in QC is also done in some areas by the local businesses at gas stations and restaurants by people serving you...making sure you are in compliance - likely experienced that more that trail side checks by the QPP. Ghurst and surrounding area can be bad for multiple trail or road side checks in a fairly small area & window by different officers - can get annoying, but such is life. Lake Simcoe and surrounding area used to see a fair amount of OPP traffic - not sure that is still the case as of late. Otherwise, it does seem you do not run into them all that much - but lately I tend to get my rides in early so I am off the trails by mid-afternoon when they tend to be more active. And we all now know that if you want to see some good OPP enforcement, just have the local health twit for that region shut the trail system down and they come from miles around to ensure all are abiding the "laws".......

It is a just a start - stepping stone in the direction many want to see and go......so an exciting achievement for many. It will be a while yet before it becomes mainstream, just like any other process when people are looking for this type of modification. Local shops or guys with the knowledge and interest will piggy back off of this as time passes.....bringing the cost and timeline down at some point.

There is no mention of how many beers it took for this.....3 or 4 beer job I was going to mention inspection of the skid & drive bearings, idler wheels and sliders.....but already noted. I would consider shock rebuild if not done yet as well.

Not to get off topic.....but do we wonder why he has the followers he does that perhaps share the same ethics in life and where things are at. Really is extreme poor taste - time & place for things and having the sense to know when and where that is......
-
Yes, he was very passionate about many things that he shared on the forums.....his career / work in data centers or the city of TO workers and of course when it came to his back & fourth bantering with Failmaker or Zoso - one of the things I always remember about him on the one of the other forums, it was usually quite comical!

Wow, that really sucks...as does cancer. I hope he or his family did not suffer for long dealing with the illness. Condolences to his family, I think he had no kids, just his wife was all I ever recall him talking about, and I think his dog. Thanks for sharing the update.

LOL. Hmmmm, not exactly the real deal just yet, just in my imagination, but I am hopeful & optimistic ....otherwise a donation to a good cause !

Received my notification mine was shipped today - ordered Oct 31 when it dawned on me that I needed to order still after seeing gobills friendly reminder on that same day, that time was almost up (thanks) !

Because you can and that is what guys do... ... lol Just look at the mod's done on past sleds in similar caliber.
-
I agree......in the performance world, the folks that do this for a living, or even as a hobby are very persistent and knowledgeable.......just give them time and they will succeed! Personally I have no interest in modding my sled.....might be because I was always very hesitant about doing that to my 2-smokes, but obviously 4-strokes are different breed......that and I have lost the bug for that stuff, use to love it & spent hours upon hours doing it, cannot believe I am saying that actually.....

Very encouraging - starting to actually get a little excited for the new ride, but do not want to get ahead of myself with nothing sitting in the garage just yet...

Ya, tough year for all, all around......could definitely take the wind our of your sail no doubt.

Come on, be nice now......wonder if I can find a trailer in the bush full of POO crates, or are they still waiting on the engines before they ship...............LOL

In stock…..the good ole days…. Lol

I’ve purchased a few trailer tires from PA over the years and can’t say I’ve ever had any issues.
-
Ya, I did….they had the tire size I’m looking for on a rim though if I’m not mistaken.
-
I have had the trailer since bought new in 2014, so I think the tires have held up pretty good for 7 years.....replaced one leaking valve stem in one tire to date. I kind of like the narrower tires too as they tend to cut through the snow vs. riding on top of it. And I grease the axles and check tire PSI on a very regular basis.....might be why they seem to have lasted so long. Thanks for the feedback though

Sled wheels or dollies for short driveway runs this winter???
stoney replied to Candubrain's topic in Main Clubhouse
These are on sale at crappy tire. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-snowmobile-drive-on-dollies-0260548p.html?rrec=true#spc -
My Triton trailer is in need of new tires, the size of them are ST145R12 - anyone have any suggestion on a good place to buy these? Just need the tire, I will re-use the aluminum rims. Thank you

I do not think that is such a big issue around these parts - at least not that I am aware of....sure it happens, but I would say not a lot. I see you are in Newmarket, so the closest drop point is Haliburton or Dorset area, Raven Lake parking lot just South of Dorset has never been an issue, other than people that do not park with some common sense of course . Start mid-week and you will not have an issue finding a spot here for truck & trailer, trail is right there......just park sensibly please for others that want to park there as well!

I have heard about POO and DOO delays....but nothing about YAMMI-CAT.....I imagine in the same boat though, perhaps not as bad due to lower number of units sold though, but I am speculating. Anyone have friends that live or ride out west - what have they seen with new units so far? After all, that is main focal point for all manufactures - the mountain segment.

Anyone know if Quebec tourism body still sends you a trail map package if you inquire with them about planning a trip there?
