    Snow ?

Northeast US got dumped on with snow. Billingham New York had 40 inches of snow and it was still coming down yesterday. New York Central Park had about 10 inches.
  3. Who told you the OPP were preventing people from travel within Ontario... unless ordered by the province or medical officer of health they don't have that ability. I never heard of it other than something about the Ontario / Quebec border possibly had some cross province traffic closed.
  4. I heard similar and that a part of what caused the problem in the first place was people working from home due to the virus, people who were unable to work from home so a loss of their services, some of the people working from home having to deal with kids being at home and some other concerns.
  5. Being private property they have the right to simply say it's not allowed and ban anyone who doesn't want to comply. A friend of mine has a privately owned campground. It's family oriented with lots of kids. He's up front about it and weed is simply not allowed. Don't like it don't stay or leave.
  6. I called them yesterday about an email I got for a COVID rebate to go back into my account... I was on hold less than 5 minutes.
  7. I'm not so sure they hate sleds and ATV's. I think they hate the small handful of disrespectful entitled snowmobile and ATV riders that abuse the privilege of riding. They endanger other trail users, trespass and damage property. If riders abided by the rules there wouldn't be the problems there are.... or at least very few problems.

    Snow ?

so when they predict a relatively warm and low snow winter... the odds are it will be cold and lots of snow.
  9. On hwy 12 just on the south end of Fesserton just north of Coldwater is a soon to open restaurant. Just in time for sled season. It used to be Yanni's. It is now Coldwater Grille. They have a sign up, now hiring. The trail runs along the east side of hwy 12 and the restaurant is on the west side. At one time they filled in the ditch so you could cross the highway. Hopefully they will again.

    Snow ?

what happened to the 20+ cm in the forecast????
  11. and here I was thinking that there was some section of trail... possibly a rail bed open.
  12. Lets start with feats of strength
  13. What side is your man door on? Most of the time they are wrong and we get exactly the opposite. In this case it would be good if they were as wrong as usual.
  14. Don't you mean a Polaris theft deterrent... Been doing the snow dance for weeks now... unfortunately the neighbours didn't appreciate the naked snow dance on the front lawn.
  15. In high school a friend of mine bought a 74 Chevy Nova SS new... nicest car in the school parking lot at the time until one of the guys got a 74 mustang.
  16. I had a 74 Mercury Comet which had a large emblem midway between the tail lights that was the gas cap. Same with the Ford Maverick and the Mustang.
  17. I tend to be one of those that will only travel so far to ride. It seems that based on an OFSC survey I remember the majority are willing to travel 1.5 to 2 hours. I leave home on a Saturday morning and drive 1.5 hours to Port Severn. Unload, get dressed and hit the trails with the group. At times when conditions have required it, we have driven to the Seguin to ride from there and I have on occasion driven to Gravenhurst from Port Severn. If I have to drive over 3 hours one way it's not likely going to happen.
  18. It can change very quickly and have a storm come in off of Lake Huron / Georgian Bay and dump a large amount of snow.
  19. Most of the places I've stopped the hoses have been just long enough to fill both sleds through the man door. A lot of places are beginning to have very short hoses that unless you get the trailer close to the pump are too short to even reach inside through the man door.
  20. I like black for the visibility particularly in a snow storm. I've come up behind a couple of white trailers and they weren't visible until you got up close. LED bulbs they use now often don't generate enough heat to keep the tail lights visible.
  21. Women are important to the sport. It helps development as a family sport. Guy & girlfriend, husband & wife then along with that comes the kids. The kids get hooked at a young age and become life long riders. What we don't need is more throttle jockey guys trying to outdo the next on how fast he can get from point A to point B along the trail.
  22. I remember some of the stats showed that the segment of snowmobiling that was actually growing and faster than any other was new women riders. I've walked off into the trees to do business but I know my wife wouldn't.
  23. I recall seeing this on an episode of Dragons Den
  24. Your fuel door appears to be hinged on the side closest to the rear of the trailer. Switch it around so the hinge is on the side toward the front. If for some reason it doesn't get latched / locked properly the wind will keep it closed if the hinge is to the front rather than have it swing open and bang against the body of the trailer or worse get torn off.
  25. One of the things many overlook in the winter is tire pressure. It tends to drop in the colder temps but not enough to set off a low pressure alarm. Low tire pressure will impact your fuel consumption. I was surprised at how much difference running into the wind in summer will make.
