  1. I can see the logic in shipping without the shocks. Logistics to ship all the sleds and get distributed is much more challenging due to the size and the dispersal across the country. It's real easy to ship shocks, be it by UPS, FedEx or Purolator.
  2. Wed in Toronto daytime high of 1 and overnight low of -7
  3. Wed daytime high is 1 and overnight -7 for Toronto
  4. You did it right... it's better to just do it and beg forgiveness than to ask permission and risk being told no. I don't suppose you could dirty it up a bit and try to pass it off as the old sled... sometimes they don't pay real close attention. I have a number of expensive rods & reels that I passed off as already having for years
  5. We have had TD claims and the service couldn't have been better. House break in on an Easter weekend. Called them and on the Monday they had a rep in our house. Gave him the details and the police report. He wrote us a cheque for $5K that day. Told us to start replacing things, keep receipts and if we found we still had more to replace and were almost out of money give him a call. Black ice on the 400 resulted in a right off of the snowmobile trailer. Appraiser came to look at it a couple of days later. The adjuster called and based on our conversation wasn't happy with their appraisers $ value of the trailer. It was less than 2 years old. She then waived the deductible. Cost to me to get a new replacement trailer was under $500. Lightning strike took out a bunch of the electronics on our RV. They asked if we needed money up front to get the repairs which we didn't. Submitted the bills for the replacement / repairs and had a cheque in under a week.
  6. Other than the recent hold times I have never had a problem with TD. I have made a few claims over the years and the service has been outstanding each and every time.
  7. whenever I call TD, Rogers, CRA or any of the large service providers these days I put the phone on speaker, adjust the volume and continue with something else. When they answer I pick it up. They all seem to blame it on people working from home rather than a call centre and short people because not all their people were able to work from home.
  8. They take the premium out of my account monthly... easy
  9. I had a call that lasted a couple of minutes... just told them which one of the two was being cancelled, he updated the policy confirmed the new monthly payment and asked if there was anything else he could help with. That was a Thursday.... the following Tuesday the updated documents arrived in the mail.
  10. Letter? Stamp? What's that? I haven't used them in many years. I just don't mail things. Other than my trail permit and just recently the val tag, just about everything that arrives in my mail box is junk mail. Bills all arrive electronically and are paid online or are auto pay from my account.
  11. I just put it on speaker phone mode and turn the volume low so it's background then continue with other work. It would take me more time for the drive to the post office, line up to get the stamp and drive back home.
  12. If there's a person on the other end of the bogus call I answer... RCMP inspector Davis. Some of the others like tech support... I like to play with them.
  13. Apart from the 45 minutes on hold the cancellation of the policy on my wife's sled only took a couple of minutes to process. I can see them wanting to talk to you and have validation. I can see someone sending in a cancellation by email or chat then when the owner calls to make a claim being told you cancelled and it wasn't you... just someone who has it in for you.
  14. I kind of like a snowmobiling spin on an old western movie punishment. If I recall they would tie each a horse to one arm and another horse to the other then have them run off in opposite directions.
  15. Make a ridiculously low ball offer... they just may take it. You never know... it's been for sale for a while.
  16. Try calling Rogers or CRA.... just as bad or even worse
  17. I looked for that stamped in the tailgate but didn't see it. I guess my eyes are getting old.
  18. I'm not so sure it's a 3/4 ton
  19. I believe he is running a restaurant at the Edenvale Airport near Stayner... at least I think that's him.
  20. If I was going near your area I would. The sled trailer doesn't move very often... It spends the winter north. I just drive to it, pull it ahead to have room to drop the ramp and back the sled off then ride. It does look really empty though with only one sled.
  21. Fear not... we are going to have epic snowfalls... so deep you may have trouble driving your truck and trailer to the trails. After all... I sold my wife's sled so it is a given.
  22. It's a snapshot from the GM website
  23. The HD2500 GVWR is 10,450 lbs / 4,740 kg. for the 4 WD. According to the MTO Regulation 611: Annual Inspections: Personal-Use Pickup Trucks and Trailers Effective July 1, 2019, pickup trucks and trailers for personal use are exempt from the requirement for an annual inspection (both the inspection and displaying the yellow decal/sticker). A pickup truck, and any trailer drawn by the pickup truck, qualify for the exemption, provided the following criteria is met: • The pickup truck and trailer are being used for personal use without compensation; AND • The pickup truck and trailer are NOT carrying commercial tools or cargo, or equipment of a type normally used for commercial purposes. For the exemption to apply, the pickup truck must: • Have a manufacturer’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 6,500 kg or less AND • Be fitted with either the original, unmodified box that was installed by the manufacturer or an unmodified replacement box that duplicates the one originally installed by the manufacturer. So with a GVWR of 4,740 kg. the HD2500 would be exempt from inspection as long as it is personal use only.
  24. The Midland No Frills had someone at the entrance sanitizing the returned carts. He also had hand sanitizer and masks. They weren't selling the masks but were asking for a donation to the local food bank. Since the ear loop on mine had just broken I needed one. Glad they had them there and was more than happy to give a cash donation. This was a couple of months ago so I'm not sure if they are still doing it.
