  1. You really think he's a loon? You don't think he at least made a couple inquiries before he made that statement to the press? I think old Charlie is a typical politician telling people what they want to hear.
  2. There has always been, and will always be, those who are ignorant and those who just don't give a shit. The trails near my house (which has about 6 inches of snow currently) have been well used the last few days by the same people who ran them while closed last year. They have been told several times to stay off. Nothing changes.
  3. Like I said, its tempting to list it. Likely it will not be ridden this year.
  4. Was thinking about selling my spare sled. I keep it around as a backup sled in case hers or mine have an issue but mostly its been ridden by friends. Its a '15 MXZX 800, around 3000 kms. I see guys asking $8500 with 3 times the kms. That's getting close to what I paid for it 4 years ago...lol Its tempting to sell but I can't replace it.
  5. I wasn't aware that was happening, please except my apologizes on behalf of the club. I will bring it up at the next meeting. It is disappointing that the relaxation of the Marijuana laws has lead people to believe they can smoke anywhere and anytime that they like.
  6. Someone may correct me, but from what I've read on Facebook, the Hillsburgh Snow Roamers have signed a 5 year lease agreement with Credit Valley Conservation and those trails have been put back in place. They have also rerouted from Belwood to Orangeville. Nothing has been resolved with the GRCA by any club. From the Snow Roamers Facebook Page. It’s official.....I have now received the signed the CVC lease which gives us access for this year and for the next four years too! Please spread the good news and speak positively about the Hillsburgh Snow Roamers with all your felllow riders!
  7. I'm a man. The world is my toilet. As for the wife, if you ever ride in my truck, do not touch the red solo cup in the bottom pocket of the door. Its not for drinking out of.........
  8. I know you did Dave. Not that I need to be discuss all our club's financials on a public forum but we basically had our Wing Nights and help from the businesses who hang signs on the clubhouse walls as predictable income. At the end of most years we would break even, give or take a couple hundred dollars. Our "profits" came from opening the clubhouse on the weekends when trails were open (which hasn't happened much in the last 5-6 years). Without the alcohol sales, we are in the red by a fair margin. Making $.60 on a can of pop is not going to cover the losses from those sales. We are in a state of on going negotiations with the new property owner as we try to adjust to the changes.
  9. Ed is renting the house back from the owner for now and still helping with the clubhouse. Wing Night for January has been cancelled. February's Wing Night will be discussed at our next meeting. As I assumed, there are not enough positives to over come the negative currently.
  10. Alcohol is gone for good. The new owner of the property couldn't get insurance coverage with us having a liquor license. It was time for us to renew the license and our own insurance, stack Covid on top and it was done deal. No more alcohol.
  11. This is just a challenging year in many ways as most realize. Staffing, take out only combined with cold weather and the COVID fear are all working against us. With the loss of our alcohol sales, profits are minimal. Historically, January is hit or miss for sales depending on how close Wing Night falls to New Years. Now this year New Year’s Day would be our regular Wing Night. Normally we would then bump it a week to the 8th but when we do that sales go down. Seems there are plenty of reason to justify not doing it January. Tomorrow is our meeting and we will see how the ours feel.
  12. Thanks for all the support guys. Orders were down from last month by a fair amount. Talk is we will not do a Wing Night in January but I will post here after our meeting.
  13. Just going to wing it. Most likely head to Dunlop Lake or Liskeard and do 2-3 day loops. Really hoping for snow in the south. The wife is consumed with Covid fear. May have to leave her at home.

  15. Gees, your son is that old already? Seems like just a couple years ago he was 5....lol Very nice Scotty. Sounds like a great winter ahead for you and your dad. Enjoy.
  16. Good to know. Thanks. For now it will be another year on the Vector.
  17. I have her Vector set up with Tuner skis and 4 inch carbides. Combined with the weight and the lower seat height, it gives her the stable/planted feel she's looking for. If the sled follows a ski rut she will complain that the sled is trying to throw her off....lol Honestly, that Vector is very hard to upset. It just plows through every obstacle. I have a '15 XP 800 that she has ridden and finds it acceptable but the higher seat height makes it feel tippy to her. The XP, IMO, is heavier to steer and gets twitchy when the speed comes up. I'd really prefer to keep her on a 4 stroke too. I was leaning towards a 900 or 900T last year. Just dial some weight off the skis in set up or go to a ski with less bite to keep the steering light. She doesn't need it to corner on rails. The 900T would be if I sold my XP800 and her Vector and use it as a replacement for both. The 800 is a backup sled since no one wants to ride that Vector but her.
  18. Good choice Zoso.I hope she enjoys it. Di has been riding her '12 Vector for several years now and she says it has made a big difference in how long she can ride due to reduced shoulder fatigue. Its getting to the time that I'd like to replace her sled but I don't see anything on the market now that would make her as comfortable.
  19. its a '12 Ram 5.7. No idea what gears are in it. It has the option for AWD.
  20. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to be honest but from what I remember, the truck typically shows 15-18/ L/100kms under normal conditions. With the trailer loaded and attached it drops to 25-28.
  21. Legend has a 7x27, 7x29 and a 7x31. I have a Dodge 1500.
  22. I have a 7x23 including the Vee. 1, 2 or 3 sleds, its a dream to pull around. Only regret is when I need to bring a 4th sled.
  23. 3 sleds with TD. No collision. $1mil Liability, Comprehensive 2012 Vector $375 2015 ZR9000 $400 2015 MXZ-X 800 $410 Valued at market prices.
  24. Wing Night this Friday Nov 6. Take out only. 5pm - 8pm. We have made arrangements inside so that people will be able to stay out of the cold yet social distance (Covid capacity rules in place). Unfortunately, beer and other alcoholic beverage will not be sold by the club going forward. Due to the ownership change and problems with insurance. The club has decided to not renew its license.
