StongFarmer, there is an easy way to handle these types of things:
1. Take your unit in
2. come to an agreement on WHAT WORK you are authoriszng the dealer to do - and the costs for doing that work - ONLY THAT WORK
3. Sign a work auth. for ONLY that work
4. In the event the dealer comes across something in the course of doing that work - said dealer must provide their findings in writing, outline the corrective parts/labor - cost for doing same - and you either agree by signature to that additional work - or say NO.
If the dealer goes ahead and does anything beyond #1/2 above - without your approval/auth - you can simply say I'm not paying for it.
thank you
Is there not a BRP dealer near there - called Colborne's Powersports....driven by them many times and saw the BRP signs?
It is not a large place, so maybe they did not meet the criteria for BRP to be a dealer......
We have no snowmobile dealers close to Owen Sound.
I wont buy new again so it doesnt bother me. Short of a blown motor, I do all my own service and repairs. A used sled is a far better investment for me.
