Just so long as the hockey game isn't in town this weekend....   Back-in-the-day - Manitouwadge had 2 (TWO!) motels across the road from each other, and we got the last room available. Otherwise it was all hockey!   .

Had our reroute all figured out after the LaCache to Murdochville trail was officially closed again this winter. Now this possible closure of trail 5 complicates plans again including staying at Motel Grand Vallee. Have no desire to ride the south shore. Hope they decide soon if a reroute can be arranged or trail is closed so can make plans.

Yes. We always liked staying at the Hotel Motel Grand Vallee. Their food is top notch.

The Magpie is going to have more rooms available this winter also 

Leave it to Luc - 'short day' , D'ville to Hornepayne (which it is).  It's just that it's a great distance, but the old logging roads allow you to do it 'quickly'.   We were once stuck in Hornepayne for 2 extra nights with a jack shaft bearing issue (Yamaha) and I can attest to how great those trails are. D'ville is awesome for it's own reasons.
