That would make you the "grumpy old man". lol I'm sure anyone that rode in the 90's had an obnoxiously loud triple at some point. More than 1 in my case. The muscle sled era was in full swing and folks seemed more tolerant. Most land owners also seemed to be more involved in the sport back then as I recall. There were unsanctioned radar runs and drags regularly. Even the local dealers would show up. I had an 89 Mach1 with pipes, jetting and head that made the neighbourhood children cry when I fired it up. Drove my wife nuts when our own 4 kids suddenly turned into feral cats looking for a place to hide. She hated the smell of AVgas that always seemed to creep into the house too.  So ya...I get the appeal. lol

So it was an accurate recollection 😂 I imagine must have been on the gilford side, the usual spot. 

Cans = bad situation for trails, fair that we all feel that way.  but I can totally get what spidy is saying, we were all “younger” and did things because it felt right or cool, even though it was bad - we just live in a world where this particular topic is detrimental to the sport, now more than ever before.  I ran a can when I was “younger”, I know, shame on me and I’m not proud of that, but honestly at the time I didn’t think it was such a bad thing, and frankly, I don’t recall it being as big a deal then as it is now -  but I get it and why it is so bad for our sport. 

When the trails get shut down due to the fools with canned exhausts, we will all be sitting on our asses . Wondering why did we allow  a few to ruin it for the rest of us .
