KCC
The season will be soon coming to a close & I was wondering how many hours clubs usually put on their groomers a season? Lots of hard work is done by volunteers doing trail work, grooming & administration work, so thank you for making this a great season.

Yukon
The Provincial average for grooming hours is around 160hrs. Some clubs are much more , but that's the average.

Fred Quimby
We did nearly 300 hours over the stretch of Family Day weekend alone...and still people complain. Six groomers...350+ Km's of trails..grooming those trails several times a week...adds up. The District loves to see us out there!
PISTON LAKE CRUISER
The 12 member clubs of the Golden Triangle Snowmobile Ass'n. have 4 Groomers for over 400 km. of trail. We sent one groomer up to Elk Lake and then Cochrane as they were in need. The next day it snowed. We ran with 3 groomers one of which ran over 80 hours one week. We even got a 4th groomer going using a 4 wheel drive tractor with chains to pull a drag for a couple of weeks. (works OK if the base is solid).Won't know the total hours until after our exec. meeting tonight but they did an awesome job over alot of hours in a short timeframe. Huge traffic volumes when there was snow.

Maybe they are onto something, forward thinking.

I passed him a couple of times on our journeys and left a very nice trail. He seemed to get around quit well. Good idea for a tractor that may be sitting on the side lines for the winter. Elk Cabins
Thanks again to the Golden Triangle Snowmobile Ass'n, really got us out of a spot this year. Can't say enough about how your club stepped up to help us out. You really set the bar as to how we all should be operating. Thanks Again Art
jrhz06
HCSA pays for its fuel. District doesn't contribute to it.
FreezerBurnt
The system here is strange all clubs are allotted 12 grooming runs This season we have had a foot of snow on the ground since November 10th and grooming began most places early Dec, we still have 2.5 feet of snow on the ground and some places 3-4feet
Fred Quimby
Fred, does your District pay for the Club's Groomer fuel, or a portion of the cost? Nope we foot our own bills but being a bigger club with some fairly extensive trails the groomer time adds up fast.
