  1. Thanks for the updates....there is still part of me that says I should go up to Timmins, as I know what to expect up there and you just cant beat their trail system
  2. We are staying at the BW in NBay and plan to come back every night, we are into 400km days, we are there Thurs to Sun
  3. I am happy to hear this as we were originally going to go to Timmins March 1, but now we are going to go to NBay, I love Timmins and the northern trails but I also like a 3 hr drive vs 7 hrs. More time on the sleds!!!! Planning some big km days, I have only been from NBay to Mattawa once in the past, planning doing NB to Stonecliffe, NB to New Liskeard and NB to Sudbury. Any recommendations on these plans??
  4. You mean something like this?? I had several F150’s (EB 3.5’s) in the past and got the Ranger last year. It is a great truck, gets great fuel mileage (not that the F150 was terrible) and drives really nice. I got the Tremor package and with the Fox shocks it drives way better than a Lariat or XLT as they are pretty bouncy. The new 2024 body style looks awesome, plus they are coming out with a Raptor version….I imagine that will not be cheap. As for towing I have no issues at all with 2 sleds and a TC167. If you drive it at the speed limit the fuel mileage is decent, if you have a heavy foot while trailering, it sucks the gas pretty quickly. Only a 70 litre tank so you will stop for gas more often. I get about 600km to a tank not towing 10-11l/100km on average. When I tow it drops to about 16l/100km. In comparison my F150 had a similar drop in fuel mileage but it went from 12-13l/100km to 17-18l/100km. The truck seems to handle the trailer well, always feel confident while driving. The only thing I don’t like about the Ranger is that is doesn’t have Auto 4wd, it is either 4 high or 4 low. I would buy another Ranger in a heart beat. You can tune the motor through Ford or after market, but a lot of the tunes want you to run 91 octane….F that at these prices. If you drive it in Sport mode it shifts a bit more aggressively, similar to a F150.
  5. I have a Triton TC 167, it is a great trailer, easy to pull (had a F150, now have a Ranger), both tow it well. Easy to load/unload the sleds. The trailer height is the only real drawback as you will crack your head more than once, and with a helmet on, you have to be fully bent over. Any inline trailer should work fine.

    Gloves.

My wife got me a pair for Christmas, like $150 from Costco, that is a great price and Karbon is a good brand, I have lots of their clothes and it is well made. I will be curious to see how they work
  7. Saw that Lindsay to Kinmount is now open and green, may have to stretch out the arms tomorrow for a quick rip, north of Kingston is open as well, but it is another 1.5 hr drive so I will stay local for now.
  8. 900 Patriot for the Mtn guys as well, wonder if that will translate to the flat landers next year, I would assume so.
  9. Yeah this will sell them for sure but 25k for any sled is outrageous, they have priced me out of the market that is for sure.
  10. Looks like the SSM, Sudbury and North Bay corridor are going to get 25-30cm, sadly anything much south of that is going to be rain. Better grease up the trailer bearings and get ready to ride a bit further north. I was hoping Bancroft/Hali would be snow but now it looks like a lot of rain. We rode from Peterborough to Tweed and back on Sat, I don't think that area can't handle another 25mm of rain and +7C
  11. I agree you don't want to drive further then you have to, but I am also after quality and willing to drive to get that. If you want great trails guaranteed go to Timmins or even Kirkland Lake, some great loops around there. We always stay at Cedar Meadows in Timmins great spot, has everything, spa, food and a bar, never have to drive anywhere.
  12. We are supposed to get high winds tonight and tomorrow am along with another 5cm so it might be a bit tricky for Sat
  13. Love the trails around Kirkland Lake, some good riding there.
  14. Only downside is you cant park in front of your room like you can at the Comfort Inn, but it is a newer more modern motel. Access is fine from either place. We found there was a limited selection in terms of food in Kirkland Lake last time we were there, maybe that has changed recently
  15. I have about 10k on mine, never one issue. I have been over everything you can imagine. You have to set up the sled and lessen the ski pressure, and eliminate the toe out on the skiis, and adjust to a neutral position. I have been nothing but impressed. The only real issue is they grab a bit on your trailer guides and on bare pavement at the gas station they can be a bit of a pain. I had a dealer put them on as it was their recommendation, and when I first saw them I was like WTF are you putting on my sled...lol. As for fuel economy, I have a 1100T with an Eco tune and I can get about 180km to a tank, this was exactly the same before I put the trackers on.
  16. Yes once you try Trackers you will not likely go back, there are two versions semi-aggressive and aggressive
  17. Depending where you live take you sled to John at Accelerated Technologies in Buckhorn, he is a wizard at setting up sleds. He explains everything to you as they set the sag, limiter straps, front shocks etc. Best $250 you will ever spend.
  18. Yep it is a combo of both, but I have to say I have run snow trackers for 4 years, and I have rode a bunch of different sleds (all set up properly) with different carbide combos and nothing gives you the consistency that trackers do in all types of conditions.
  19. There is a video by sledaddicz on Youtube and they put snow trackers on a Mach Z and said it completely changed the sled, made the steering effort very light and nimble
  20. We dropped in Havelock and rode to Smiths Falls on the E it was really good, never made it past there tho.
  21. Not too many rigs out at 8am I was surprised thought it would be slammed.
  22. Finally got out for a good rip today. A few comments/observations from today..... 1. A word of advice, as much as everyone is excited to get out, think twice about doing 438km on the first ride of the year...lol 2. We dropped in Havelock and road the the E 108 to Sharbot Lake then E114 to Harrowsmith, then the E up to Portland, spectacular trails, may I dare say, Cochrane like in terms of quality. Got a little choppy on the way back, but I will be going back there soon. 3. When you change the oil on your 1100 Turbo, remember to reconnect the charge tube, ask me how I know. Lying in the snow at 8am at -26 taking the hood off is not a lot of fun. 4. Saw a lot of sleds, and not one close call, no idiots out there today 5. Cops were out if full force 6. A lot of old iron out today....a lot. Forgot one.... 7. Eating lunch at -16 on your sled sucks
  23. I made the mistake of riding up there over Xmas a couple of years ago, rode from Cochrane to Kap and back, the trails were decent. From SRF back to Cochrane we hit 65km of non stop moguls, it was pure hell, I will never do that again. I can wait to Jan for the first ride....
