  1. Which one is that and why? The side loops that they Groom with alpine are most fun. Going up that big hill is a blast but when one time I had a guy come straight at me, going up wrong way. Ahhh lucky it wasn’t Icey and be stopped and rolled back down backwards to let me thru. Few that was a close one.
  2. In kinmount or right outside hailburton village on rail trail? They always like to sit near all stop signs. Easy safe spot to check papers. I have also been stopped in mattawa before river crossing coming into town. One officer on north trail and one on other side of river too, in police cars. They already had my sled registration numbers on camera if I decided to do a u turn and go back into bush. Got yeah no matter what you do.
  3. Only area that I know this has happened is d108A from hornepayne to dub. Can’t open it because going south is a different health unit. So now trail sits un groomed until middle of January it seems. If it gets extended then no connection will be made.
  4. Sometimes you just take a wrong turn and then say ow crapola you are riding on slush and water that isn’t frozen solid. I really need to get a gps on sled. Been close to go swimming a few times but always made it thru iffy area’s. Almost sank once on Kennis lake near forest. No snow left on road early in winter and people were riding from forest across lake to base camp as a short cut, instead of going long way or down bare kennies lake road. It was late in day and low on fuel, I took lake way. Lots of slush and some open water along way. Thankfully I made It that day. Followed some so so packed goat path trail back to base camp after lake. Almost got stuck on that path, which I learned later was old access trail, oops.
  5. That’s cool. 6 pick down is my blue viper on left side, While stopping at ice caves. Beside it is a Polaris iq 600 that my friend Sarah was riding. Still can’t believe we got a bit lost after lunch at bass lake house. Thankfully leaders back tracked us and made it back to wharf in slush snow conditions if you remember. I must have just missed you that day .
  6. What about day we were on donuts musoka tourer and sponge bob decided to run open channel near lake joesph. He sank there and he got a diver and put a rope on it. Then as diver was down there working on getting rope tied to sled, a Yamaha comes splashing thru just narrowly missing diver. Pretty sure that person was on this board on some point too. 10 of us dragged sled out on a rope. Bob got it running and rode rest of season. Then I seen sled for sale at end of season. Buyer beware out there. Must have been a few others there like Canuck and his wife that day love my viper and a few other long time members.
  7. I never gone down but have been with people that have and usually doing somthing stupid like running open channel between two lakes. Ruins day pretty fast when you have to make other arrangements. No way I would want to try any skipping this winter, with not many places to go to dry out, If you do go down.
  8. All these posts just gives peoples ideas. So far there are no gates involved. Hopefully we don’t loose any trails since with covid hard to go and negotiate it back. I have already seen some upset land owners online, that have threatened to call cops. Surely not all a drama show.
  9. With weather not going far in Parry sound area either.
  10. Riding still good in south if you have private land that didn’t get torn up during mild spell. Did a small tourer today. Stayed off septic system and flower beds lol, but manure pile is fair game!
  11. No rules really can do what you want pretty much. Just ofsc might not connect different health units together until lock down is over. So have to wait and see where we can and not go pretty much.
  12. When was last time you did that? I got on after you near blooming dale road. Always went towards elora. Winters not even cold enough to attempt that today.
  13. I guess you didn’t sell sled to that guy? Seems getting snow then a major warm up is new norm. This year a little odd with a real lack of cold weather. Was suppose to be a La Niña winter too. Maybe middle of January it will change. Bright side is can’t get much worse and if it does have to get x jd out and cut your grass.
  14. Yeah we shall see. Every time there was police out in our area, they catch very few people that don’t comply. I say majority of people are complaining with rules. Even ones that aren’t obvious they usually have a day pass in there coat pocket, can’t assume no permit on windshield that they are free loading.
  15. Yikes. I don’t see many around here. Sileage wrap the same thing. Most farmers use wrappers here and rap up a row of round bales. Typically stored on edge of field near barn, for easy access.
  16. His friend must have no insurance since it would be easier to just make a phone call and be done with it.
  17. All about keeping costs down. Drive it to 90,000 km’s and trade it. We live in a disposable society today. Farm equipment same thing today too. Some equipment only has a 2 year warranty, down from 5 or 7 years in past. Atv’s only a few years too.
  18. If you tow allot chances are it will wear out sooner? Lucky you don’t keep trucks that long that sounds worse then expensive timing belt replacements on Honda and Volkswagen engines.
  19. I dunno even dealer was puzzled. It would puke out engine oil thru turbo and out exhaust and have no power. Always happened on a real cold day after start up. Now I am using block heater and so far hasn’t happened again. Shouldn’t do that I agree and they covered two turbo’s under warranty. If it does it again I am trading it no doubt.
  20. Most diesels especially turbos needs to be plugged in after minus 20 C or so. Cold weather starts with glow plugs can shorten turbo’s Life. Learned that on my telehandler. Went thru two turbo’s and then finally agreed, I needed a block heater kit. They don’t normally use them Only glow plugs. Always blew a cold day after starting on glow plugs. No issue since I have been using block heater now. Truck could be different design though.
  21. We use to ride grand River from Bridgeport to almost elora. Always open water along the way too. Now I look back on that and it was a pretty stupid move, but back then there was at Least a decent amount of solid ice, which isn’t case today with all warm ups.
  22. Hopefully it works out for him. Glad to see some choices in town though.
  23. How does it start in cold weather? Be an issue if no block heater in minus 20 ish weather? Thanks
  24. Not bad but not as much snow as I thought. Looks like they have around same amount as us maybe an inch or two more.
  25. But a barn that’s insane. Maybe shouldn’t be riding xmas eve after a big fixing dinner and a few cocktails.
