  1. Kennisis Lake in Haliburton froze solid last night
  2. My nieces bf got the same email for his 850, her 650 will be ready by the end of the month.
  3. Peter is long gone. I think Go Bills is correct on regulations, a few dog sled companies have came under fire lately for treatment of their dogs. The Forest was always busy with their dog tours, in fact people were paying to walk their dogs in the summer. From what I'm told the snowmobiling is not in jeopardy.
  4. This was 2yrs ago this time of year in Haliburton. What a difference.
  5. I use Blackstock Motorsports for just regular parts I need, always seem to have everything stock but never had any work done by them. Don't like trashing dealerships usually but had a terrible experience with Haliburton Outdoor Equipment. My daughters were alone at the cottage when they had a mishap with my Nytro and unfortunately I was 2 hrs away. Towed it to Yamaha, told my girls they couldn't look at it for 4 days. I got in touch with them and asked for an estimate which took another week. Finally came back and said $1200 without labour. I said no and told them I would pick it up. Charged me $400 to look at it. I fixed it myself for $165, took me 1.5 hrs and 3 beers. Rant done. lol
  6. Well said!! Really enjoyed your pics and input
  7. Great day, way better than I thought
  8. Thanks, I'm up there this weekend so I might drop in there Saturday for a final ride. They stopped grooming as of Tuesday so might get a little choppy. I think they will close after this weekend
  9. How bad/ good was it? Scratchers a must?
  10. You will need scratchers for sure in the morning, things should loosen up in the afternoon. Might want to consider dropping further north on their trails (behind Little Kennisis) better conditions that way
  11. Tall Pine trails were amazing all weekend. 62, 64,65 and 66
  12. Wonder why the lake isn't staked then
  13. Might take my wife there to check them out. Any good? Looks to be a short ride, lake is all Red to get there though. Would have to trailer I guess
  14. What happened to losing the trail through Moose and Eagle? Landowner? PIA to go all the way around now
  15. Yes tons of sleds out on Kennisis and redstone all weekend
  16. How was the wolf loop? I was tempted today
  17. There's tracks on Kennisis as well from last weekend, I will be checking it this weekend to see how close we are to staking it
  18. Yes Kennisis, 4 inches, the bays are getting slushy. Need a few cold nights to firm everything up
  19. Over 10cm in Northern Haliburton. Probably closer to 6" yesterday.
  20. Same here, nothing last year either!
  21. It's almost as deep as Kennisis, the wind from the West keeps Kennisis open. It pretty much closed up last week but then the wind picked.
  22. Some Forest lakes should be staked soon, people are running Redstone and Little Kennisis. I'm on Big Kennisis, it's wide open!
  23. This early in the year this is pretty common, no other trails are really open and people are itching to get out. I usually go once or twice between Xmas and New Year's. IMO the side trails are really nice and there are some great loops which don't see much traffic but they need the snow for this to happen. Try again in Feb and I think you would really enjoy it. Spring riding in April is very nice too
