  1. Depends what you are towing. Those mid sized SUVs often have motors that produce great power but the transmission ratios are all about fuel mileage.
  2. I run it through my company. I do have to charge HST when I sell it though. Its all above board. Nothing shady about it.
  3. I really only care how much it costs me to use it for the season. If there was a sled that was $30K but I knew that it would only cost me $1000 to ride it for the season, I would own it vs a $20K one that cost me $3K for the season.
  4. My policy was $700 and the gal told me a few mins ago that my refund will be $250. I am ok with that. Its $250 more than I had yesterday.
  5. Thanks! It was a mint sled and I thought it was priced fairly for all parties. People need to realize that COVID pricing is over. It served me well. Now I can put the money back in the bank for 9 months, cancel my insurance and not have to deal with storing it anywhere for the summer.
  6. Funny thing is that the odometers are really close to accurate. I did a 1200km run to Quebec a few weeks ago and my GPS and odometer were within 5 kms at the end of the trip.
  7. My season is over as well but for a different reason. I sold my sled and it was picked up by the new owner today.
  8. My buddy is an ex-Polaris dealer and still is a very good tech. He always said that you were on borrowed time after 6000 miles on those 800s. Broken skirt is the issue 90% of the time when they let go.
  9. That was my buddys sled for sale in Stratford. It was a nice sled with another year of warranty still on it. He sold it for $14500.
  10. After paying the $400 for a full season Quebec permit and seeing what that gets you, I am struggling to see any reason to buy an OFSC permit next season. The $400 is actually a pretty good value when you see how well the trails are signed and groomed. I think that the OFSC needs to have a serious discussion on shutting down some southern clubs. Clubs like Tillsonburg, Strathroy, Forest etc.... should not exist if they have averaged 3-4 days of open trail per season in the last 10 years. I live in Mitchell and rode 2 days locally in 2011 and maybe 2 days in 2018 if I go through my photo albums.
  11. Do you mind me asking how much the Garmin sold for? I am thinking about posting my Montana 680 with all the maps for sale.
  12. Pre-Textron this dealer would sell 50 units per year.
  13. I talked to an unnamed Arctic Cat dealer today and he is pissed. He was given 12 units for MY24. Thats it. He said he is ready to throw in the towel with Cat as he cant get enough units to justify the fixed costs of being a dealer.
  14. Most towns have a by law like this. As mentioned, the bylaws generally exempt people are are going to their residences. FWIW, all Quebec trails are "closed" from 11pm - 6am province wide.
  15. I always stay at Cedar Meadows when we are in Timmins. TONs of free parking, restaurant on site and basically right on the trail.
  16. No different with all the groomer problems around Chapleau and over to Hornepayne. No reason for Tillsonburg to have a new groomer sitting in a shop while these tourist destinations up north are dealing with broken down equipment.
  17. I have heard nothing but good things about Beckners. They are made about 25kms from me and I drive past their shop all the time. You are going to hate life pulling that trailer with your RR though.
  18. What 4 cyl SUV vehicle do you pull it with? Please dont say RAV4 or anything like that. I honestly dont think you are going to be able to tow a 2 place enclosed properly unless it a hot rod turbo charged engine. I own a TC167 and my wifes Honda Pilot with a 3.5 V6 struggled to pull it. Not becuase of the motor but the crappy 6 speed transmission that Honda used. Her 22 Bronco with 2.7 V6 seemed to pull ok but again the trans that Ford put it in wasnt really the best for towing. My wife just got a 23 Highlander with a 2.4 Turbo and I am sure it would pull in a pinch, I am not even bothering to put a hitch on it as I think it would suck balls towing on a 400 series highway. (yes, she goes through a lot of cars). As mentioned, your motor might pull it in a straight line, but you need to make sure that your chassis and brakes can actually handle the trailer. I think a 6 x 12 single enclosed with a ramp door is probably the best route for you.
  19. Apparently Joe the owner has sold Base Camp to someone? Not sure of any details or the validity of this though?
  20. Here is the trail coming into Mitchell.
  21. Pouring rain Stratford. Any snow we have will be gone by Sunday. It will take a miracle to get anything south of North Bay up and running this season. I am booked into Amos area for next weekend.
  22. I really like the Woodys ACE bars.
  23. I had it over Christmas. Kicked the crap out of me for 3 days. My wife tested positive but was asymptomatic.
  24. That sucks. Sorry to hear this. Luckily she is ok.
  25. I just jumped in my truck and was shocked to see +6c on the dash. I knew it was mild but didnt think it was that warm today. All of the ice and slop that has been frozen on my truck for the last week is now laying on my driveway.
