  1. All perils. Collision, comp, $2M liability. $500 deduct.
  2. If I was forced to pay that kind of money for a used sled or have no sled, I would sit out the season. These guys who paid drug money for their sleds are going to have an eye opener when supply comes back to normal.
  3. I just the renewal for my 21 Renegade 850 XRS with full coverage at $620 tax in with Desjardins. I did a quick online quote with TD and the same policy was $680.
  4. Its a bit of a dick move that your dealer wont let your buddy just take the Mach at the same terms that you bought it for. My dealer told me that he has had a few of his customer post their Mach Zs on Kijji before they have even arrived and are trying to flip them at a substantial profit. He said he will not participate in that type of sale. I dont blame him one bit.
  5. Problem is there is a lot of sales tax on a Mach Z which makes it pretty cost prohibitive to "flip" to your buddy. Just being Devils Advocate here, BUT unless you have a bill of sale with your name, the VIN to the unit and the sale price, with any additional terms such as assignment, the dealer owns the product. The dealer can do with it what he chooses. I always say that if it isnt on the contract, it never happened. I have a new C8 on order and I did have the dealer write on the bill of sale that I can assign the contract to anyone before date of delivery just in case I choose not to take delivery of the car when it finally arrives.
  6. Thats totally different than the guys who are speculating and trying to make a profit. Most contracts have written in the fine print that there is "no assignment" of the goods to another buyer without approval from the original seller - but no one reads the fine print.
  7. As someone who has been on the dealer side of the desk, I wouldnt let anyone assign their Snow Check to anyone in todays market either for a profit.
  8. Any ETA on your machines? My buddy at St Onge said that there is a ton of 900Rs getting built/shipped in Dec. Hopefully yours gets built and has all the parts.
  9. We generally unload in Cochrane and ride to Hearst. Spend a couple of days in that area and then head back to Cochrane.
  10. I like staying at the Companion in Hearst. Clean rooms, good restaurant on site, secure parking, close to Beer Store/LCBO and right on the trail. Hearst doesnt get 1/4 of the traffic that Cochrane gets.
  11. Here is a prime example. This was Day 1 on our Gaspe trip in 2020. Buddies Backcountry died - took it to dealer they told him it was blown up and they couldnt touch it for 2-3 weeks. It gets loaded up in the trailer and buys this Summit from a different dealer so he can continue on. The best/worse part is that he took the "blown up" sled to his local dealer to get fixed as it was still under warranty and it turns out that all it needed was 2 spark plugs.
  12. My buddies 900 Turbo X arrived at St Onge on Friday. Only thing missing is DESS. It can be picked up anytime.
  13. A bit off topic but has anyone actually seen a new Triton trailer for sale anywhere? All of the big dealers dont seem to have anything in stock.
  14. I guess the frame of the PWC trailer is fine but it was new in August. I just feel that I shouldnt have to ask Triton to warranty both alloy wheels, both winches and 2 marker lights in such a short period of time. I just dont feel like I got good value in this "Premium" trailer so far.
  15. Tritons quality has really dropped in the last few years and they are pricing themselves out of the market at the same time. I have a TC167 that has been ok at best but my 2022 PWC trailer is a POS. In hindsight, I would not have taken delivery of it. Wheels pitting within weeks of taking ownership, winches not working properly and blown out lights have made it a huge disappointment.
  16. Yeah. He really liked the Polaris last year but it is far easier for me to have 2 of the same brand of sleds. The Indy was a great machine. The Indy would blow the doors off the MXZ when you lined them up but the ride quality was way better on the Ski-Doo.
  17. Haha. Truth is that my dad bought so much stuff for me inc sleds, trucks, dirt bikes etc... when I was growing up that this is just a chance to repay him. It also works out in the wash as has a really nice 23ft bowrider at his cottage that he just leaves there for me to use.
  18. It will be ok, but I already have an 850 and was looking forward to trying the little 600 out. The plan was for my dad to ride the 600 and I would keep my 21 850 for another season. Now it looks like my dad will be getting my 21 850 and I will ride the 22.
  19. Well I had to make a change of plans last night. I was speaking with my dealer and he told me not to expect my 22 600XRS until late Jan and offered to give me my deposit back. In further conversation, I asked if anyone has bailed on their Spring Break deals and he said that a guy had just walked on his 22 MXZ850 with 1.5 and fancy gauge. Good thing is that the sled was in stock and complete. Bad thing is that is ends up being almost $3K more than the 600 I had ordered because of the gauge and track (and motor obviously). I told him to set it aside for me as I cant take the chance of not even getting my machine until the 1st week of Feb.
  20. I have only been asked for the receipt once and that was in Quebec. I was the only person who was asked for their receipt of all the guys in my group and the cop told me that everyone else had their permits stuck to their hoods and I had mine on the glove box lid. He said that he has caught lots of Ontario guys who just take their glove box lid off and lend it to a buddy while they are in Quebec and he now checks every sled that has the permit place there.
  21. I dont think they mail you a sticker anymore? You just buy it online, print off the temp permit and away you go. We did Gaspe 2 years ago and half the guys just bought week long permits. We got pulled over 3 times and never had an issue just showing the receipt.
  22. As EPA emission penalties increase I think that the days of cracking ECUs may be behind us. A combo of the VW car scandal and HD emission fines have manufacturers pretty scared. Replacing the entire ECU is going to become the norm in the next few years with just about any powersport machine.
  23. They went the "Vortex" route and just replaced the ECU instead of trying to work around the stocker. I had to go the same way with my Husqvarna FE350 after KTM locked the boxes down tight and made it impossible to refash. It truly is the best way to do it but it gets pricey. My Vortex box was $1000 US. I am sure these boxes will cost the same or more.
  24. Cochrane is a great place to launch out of but I generally head west for at least a night or 2. The traffic drops dramatically once you get to Kap and west.
  25. I didnt even know the kid. He was a buddy of a father and son that came along for the weekend. As soon as he pulled his sled out of the trailer, I told him he was going to have issues that weekend and suggested he put his stock can back on (it was still in the trailer). He said no and got a $400 ticket for his stupidity.
