  1. In the insurance biz and using TD......I guess TD can't be all that bad
  2. With it being online now vs. buying in your region you ride or wish to support, I would think it is more an overall number regarding permit sales. I know you can select your club though when you buy online. Regardless though, if there is increase in one district, that is better than a decrease! D5 hasn't exactly seen the greatest of winters/seasons as of late... In a perfect world, that would be awesome to have frost before snow, but we know that is usually not the case. If the cold/frost doesn't come, I will gladly take the snow vs. the cold.....people can ride the snow, cannot ride the cold. Just might mean the clubs will need more people to pack the trails before the groomers can get out though. With no frost though, I would imagine private land with crops would be delayed longer though to prevent damage.
  3. From what I recall, it is the last day of the early season permit sale where the number of permits bought increases significantly......guys waiting until the last minute....
  4. Ya, I know it is not openly shared, but I know people are in the know, but also get that some people take this info, twist it for some other agenda that they may have or choose to have when something doesn't go how they think it should as the season unfolds, etc..... I am hopeful that some good stuff will come out of Covid-19, I know some already has and I am optimistic that sled permits and participation in the sport will be one of those good things....even if US folks cannot contribute, which given the recent number of US folks coming here, cannot see that as being that big of a deal!
  5. Yes, been hit or miss lately with the mag's. I have not received yet the ones you listed.... And last year I am trying to think if I received any mag's at all.
  6. Okay, so yes, all other things surrounding the permits are good & looks positive.....but how about what really counts regarding the trail system, and that is the dollars & cents in the system based on permit sales. Of course the volunteers are equally as important, but with no money to work with, they are not going very far..... I know the closing date for early season is just past, so still early, but there has to be a pretty good idea already of what the sales were looking like with two months now under the OFSC trail permit buying belt!
  7. Did you get the OSM mag about a month a go?
  8. Can someone share what the early season permit sales numbers are for this year compared to years past, should be interesting?
  9. Without a doubt, always have and always will, just too bad when they need to involve courts, legal, etc.....but that is the norm I suppose.
  10. It is really good news. Best for all enthusiasts when all of the manufactures are running on all eight cylinders, regardless of your preference.......plus this just means Doo will soon have a little bit more of a CAT technology in/on their products
  11. Now that you mention the clearance thing, I recall that as one of the reasons to reverse them.
  12. Years ago people with progressive rate shocks vs linear would flip them, I recall discussion surrounding this but I am not sure what the benefit was, if any.
  13. I know not really a discussion at this point, but the Fox air shocks are not what I would call ideal for a nice ride, they have their limitation and there are other shocks that are way better from a comfort standpoint.....can re-valve the air shocks of course, but still not ideal in the plush comfort criteria. There are some very light weight helmets on the market that make a big difference with neck fatigue - I am not certain, but I thought you had the Doo older modular helmet with the breath box, which are probably one of the heaviest helmets out there, I have one and compared to my MX helmet, there is a big difference in weight. Ride weekday, especially if you are retired or semi retired.....trails are much better. I do not think none of the above would have made a difference anyways in the decision, but some food for thought.
  14. Just looked at the calendar and figured I better get the order processed.....zero issues with the ordering and using the website, even doing the password reset, confirmation emails were sent literally within seconds.
  15. Issue right now is when it is recognized that a person or persons is not pulling their weight, you cannot take the perk of working from home away due to the environment right now. This Covid situation is going to create a lot of bad habits for so many on many levels, with a lot more internal battles that never existed before......going to a very big hole that many are going to struggle to climb there way out of.
  16. Working from home x 2.... The call center itself may have some of their team "teleworking" making them perhaps not as efficient or focused on the task at hand, plus with the increase in more people in general working from home, they have more of a need on their home amenities like internet so more issues or changes needed, etc..... I have worked from home for a long time now, it requires a certain level of focus or dedication to do it and still get the work done....some people just need more of a structured environment to be productive and working from home does not provide them with that.
  17. Been doing this for a long time now, not every year though.....actually did it last year, that lowered my rate. I have tried a couple of times other insurance companies I use, and usually more so do not change. As spidy said though, are the two policies apples to apples, never really dug that far into it.
  18. Policy came in from TD and same price as last year.
  19. I do not recall the year it was, but it was not too long ago that the majority of the rooms when we stayed in some of the northern hotels were by in large contractors working locally from out of town....it was crazy busy. Survey crews were working overtime a few years ago scouting things out in the North.....and we know how long process' can take, so maybe the actual work is now under way based on that surveying.
  20. Definitely nice to have friends and/or family, that are willing to tolerate you of course, in areas you like to spend some time when away from home.
  21. The intent is possible solutions when a motel/hotel is not an option.....which I hope is not the situation that needs to be dealt with, as that would really suck for the season for those willing and able to travel to their favorite northern destinations
  22. Propane heaters that attach to the tank will cake any closed or semi closed environment with moisture, especially anything metal. You need a gas heater/furnace that exhaust's to the outside, like most properly fitted trailers will have or an electric heater.
  23. Same idea as a toy hauler where the rear hauls your sled, ATV, car, etc....and other portion of trailer is a livings & cooking space. Obviously your sled trailer is not set up like a toy hauler, but what would it take to add some rigid insulation to the interior walls and an exhaust fan, generator exhausted outside and placed in a compartment that is separate from the trailer. Anything is possible, if you have the time and resources.
  24. Meh, wear & tear items, easily replaced.... I remember many years ago when we would chase the early snow and ride on marginal conditions, never thought of anything but the enjoyment of getting out early, while some would suggest we were crazy....those were good times and great memories!
  25. Been taking cod liver oil daily for a very long time.
