  1. How do you find the 1.5 on the lake running at higher speeds, big difference vs. the 1.25"?
  2. I ran a 1.5 Cobra single ply for about 5 years, no studs and it worked great......it was the first sled that I decided to not run studs it worked so good. To me loosing 1 year warranty would not be a huge deal at all. I am hoping Fire242 chimes in on the 1.5 as I knew he had it on his new ride....as well as others. Heard mixed reviews on Quinn's, but I am sure that can be the same for all dealers, cannot please everyone. I have heard more bad than good about St Onge I am afraid. It is too bad Machine is gone, they were real close and heard lots of good about them. Yes, I have done some reading on the new skid. Which setting are you running your arms on - more or less transfer? I also saw your post on the heavier springs on DooTalk, I am 190 lbs dry......so you have a few pounds on me
  3. I am tossing some things around in my head about what I will do or be on for the 2022 season and I have a few questions that I am sure some of the Doo riders on here could likely chime in on, they are: What are the normal (if there is normal) offerings from Doo on spring orders I know usually graphics How about warranty How about discounts etc..... Any dealer recommendations to suggest I live in Holland Landing, Quinn's Marina & Uxbridge Motorsports are likely the two closest to me, but I am not afraid to travel a bit to deal with a good & fair dealer For those that either have the 1.25" or 1.5" Ice Ripper, what can you share on the pro's and/or con's on either of these tracks that you have experienced I am leaning towards the 1.5" as the last 10+ years I have not had anything less than a 1.5" track and no studs but do not want to dismiss the 1.25" either I will not be adding any extra studs I am thinking a 900T in the Renegade platform, either an X or X-RS and I will be buying the LinQ 1+1 seat system so my kiddo's can come with me on some rides. Feedback is appreciated!
  4. That is a lot of damage for someone to not think speed was a factor. Really sad to see that kind of carnage. On this note, kids, wife and I were all having some fun on Simcoe today with the sled and saw an Ornge helicopter fly by heading South.....first thing that popped into my mind was what sort of sledding accident North of us will I read of hear about later on.....
  5. It is very good for the sport when these districts, especially 5, have open trails!
  6. I can only imagine what this will look like in the history book. Plus all the kids of this blip in our life will now be referred to as or labelled generation C-19, or whatever it will be called...... lack of social skills lack of sporting lack of education afraid of others fear of seeing people or having face/face interaction (new play date with friends will now be preferred to be a zoom call......) etc....
  7. Congrats! Get what you were expecting I am sure too. I was thinking of picking up a gently used 2021 for next year, but now leaning towards a new 2022.
  8. We are all big boys and girls and need to make your own bed, sleep in it, and than accept the consequences......while respecting the situation, for those that cannot, that is truly what the enforcement should be used for. Not about being privileged, it is about principle....just depends where your principles are now a days based on what you see going on around you. The entire premise on the "Red" trails between health units was simply a political one that the OFSC had to do given the situation.....it is not about a private land that is closed for use due to reason x, y, z....., which would put this in a completely different light. Those looking for others to help make up your mind, really need to figure out for themselves what is important for them & their family, and what risk they are willing to take. As far as I am concerned, the reason we are in such a mess is too much listening to the government & allowing the government to do what they have done given that they have handled this entire situation so poorly.....prime example is the Dr that has closed the PS/NB region with little to no valid reason or proof and then to see the province actually put this same region in the same category as Toronto, Peel and York region....talk about nuts
  9. Oh snap, that is not good......perhaps another trade in along with the Doo. I recently bought some Cat parks from Barrie Powersports (I know far from you), answering was no issue and had all that I needed, surprisingly. There is big CAT dealer just West of you, their name is escaping me right now, they usually used to have all the deals on non current sleds. Country Corners I believe is the name.
  10. What info have you read that it might end next week? Big Feb thaw perhaps coming.... Edit: I read your post as sledding in general ending....but I think you meant the NB/PS shut down ending....which would be great, but I think it will end when the local people just say screw it and ride or the season ends.
  11. No, that is what he have elves for.....
  12. Cat had it as well. 2003 for sure had it on the cowl.....anyone I know that tried it, saw no difference.
  13. Honestly, I think given the situation, If that is what it would take for locals to ride trails in their backyard, I think it’s a good idea or work around. I’m sure they could also do some trail work at the same time...win win for all really....or at least stick it to that peebrain doctor.
  14. So, you as a volunteer for the NB or PS area club are out every day doing "trail maintenance". Than all the local clubs and the people of this area need to do is join the club, become a member and you are all now "checking the trails", "checking signage", "packing the trails", etc.... If no one has not already thought or are already doing this, need to get on it!
  15. But the stock 900T is already close to that from what I am reading and what TD suggested above as well.....it is just rated on paper at less for some reason. Edit:, well devaluing the numbers is good for Ins I suppose......
  16. Perfect example of why one person should never be able to yield that kind of authority or decision making capabilities If we did not live in such a politically correct world, I am thinking this Dr. would have some serious second thoughts about this given possible retribution.
  17. My brother had to rent a sled last year on a trip due to mechanical issues, it was the 900T, albeit in a base model, but gave you a good idea on how it felt. It was a really fun sled that I enjoyed for the most part. For sure the throttle needed some getting use to and definitely needed some suspension work, but both were not deal breakers and have me now very interested in buying one. I have always ran Cat 2-smoke and for the first time have an interest in riding/buying a Doo & a 4-stroke......had good luck with my Cats, but if I do not try something else, I feel I will have regrets.
  18. The video I saw from Doo stated just that, no interest in that small market, they are catering to the masses. But of course, manufactures sometimes do crazy things too....
  19. One of those riders, huh...... lol Those are the really good days, but can be a challenge too! Last year when we all got that massive dump of snow at the end of Feb, 6 of us left the cabins for a day ride in QC, but only 2 of us actually did not turn back and had an epic ride that day!
  20. Was watching some reports from the hut operators yesterday, lake is not in good shape, very bad year, strong winds broke up a bunch of ice that were now floating sheets of ice......after I listened to a bunch of guys with reports decided not to take the kids out today on it as planned.
  21. My BIL lives there and it seems there is always something going on that is preventing trails from being open. I was not aware of the death, what happened? The in laws live in Wiarton as well. Just asked the wife and the man that died hit a car but that was close to Red Bay, where my BIL lives and not Wiarton, but they are close to each other.
  22. I believe there is typically a fair amount of drama for that area preventing trails from all opening... Or perhaps something else at play.
  23. Looks like some good blowing today Plan to stick close to home and take the kiddies out for a toot or two.
  24. Looking thin in that area for start of Feb. Hoping for some new snow to freshin up the trails.
