Listen, both of my parents walked to school uphill both ways with one pair of shoes their whole lives too.... Times have changed, its not 1950 anymore. There is plenty of very good paying jobs for these kids now that are not as physically demanding, good for them if they can find that kind of work and save their body for having fun instead! Work ethic comes in all forms

Well, landscaping etc. is hard physical work, long days, in crazy hot weather, for not so great pay. Can't say I blame anyone for wanting something else.

It's 14. Cineplex - and it has been a very good place to cut her teeth at. Great employer all around

My daughter is 16 and has been working for a year and a half. She is the only one in her peer group who works. It's been a tremendous experience for her in so many ways. She is taking a "leave" for the summer and has secured good employment in Huntsville for the summer so she can cottage and work. Kid is smart

TD are direct writers - and likely do not write much in the way of commercial. This is a situation where your relationship with a good broker helps.

Back when I had money and no kids - I traded every year - two at most - just to keep mileage reasonable and not have to spend any money other than on carbides or small wear items. These days - it's much different - but my Cat ( knock on wood ) has cost me very little - but also used very little.

There comes a point where you are throwing too much money at the unit though - which does nothing for its value to anyone but you. I hit point where I would rather put that $$ to a new unit.

When a permit to ride trails on a provincial level cost less than my son's hockey stick - anyone complaining about the cost seriously needs to take a step back and understand the value they are getting for that permit and realize what an idiot they are being questioning it. It's insane really.

Did 30 miles last night fooling around on the lake and some little low lying areas. Unfortunately - we are screwed getting to the trails because of the roads being bare. I bet the trails are great - we just can't get there

I think it's important to not forget how good we've had it and for how long - and that is 100% only because of the volunteers. In my opinion, the only thing that matters is the one we can't control - and that is the weather. When winters are winters - and there is an abundance of cold and snow - life is good. When they suck - we all sit and stare at the costs and armchair quarterback how it could be "better". If most or all clubs operate with efforts similar to those of our skeleton crew local club - then I don't know what else anyone could do and/or expect. No easy answer to any of it.

Roads are shot...................... Going lake riding in about 2 hours

Hoping to be up either the weekend or a little bit next week - hopefully conditions hold on for us.
