  1. We are going to try but we have no plans as to how that will happen. Most likely it will not be snowmobile accessible. No, the trail is moving to a neighbouring property. A new bridge is required but that's all in the works.
  2. I thought we’d be a lot worse. If we get the 10 cms plus they are predicting we should be back in business. Only hang up might be water in the low lying areas.
  3. The Wing Night next Friday will be the last at the clubhouse.
  4. Forecast update, 20-25 cms for Kitchener. They are sucking me in to believing it.
  5. TWN has decreased the rain and increased the snow for Kitchener. I'm sure its just a tease.
  6. Yes, she has the NA 900. It definitely needed some weight dialed out of the skis. Only reason I can see that she doesn't notice it is that she is shorter and lighter than me so the bars are taller for her and giving her a better angle to steer along with less weight. I'd have to do a bar riser but I see the turbo as only adding more weight out front. I need to ride one but I'm not likely to do that. I was thinking of spring ordering this year but I will likely go back to my original plan of ordering next spring. I want to sit on a new T-Cat and I want to see the colours on the new SRX. If the SRX goes to black and gold I will screw me completely....lol
  7. She says she absolutely loves it. Handles great, rides great, keeps her butt warm, its just better in every way than her Vector. And its pink. I took it for a ride when we got home because I was intending to order a Renegade for myself either this year or next. I think the ride is great but the steering effort for a sled far lighter than my ZR is way too heavy. In icy conditions it sticks the front end but the skis hunt in firm snow. I like the seat but the bars are too low for me and it feels small. The motor is peppy in sport mode but runs out of jam quick. Tops out at 93 mph on the speedo. The sled needs some setup but I'm scared to touch it since she seems to think its perfect.... I been thinking maybe its time I dropped down to a lower hp sled. This Renegade gets 50% better fuel milage then my turbo but after riding this I don't think I'm ready yet.
  8. Just back from 250 km run. Agree with Scotty, a ton of people out for a Tuesday. Trails were in poor shape around Elmira late in the afternoon. Lots of dirt showing, washboard and banked up corners. Sleds are thawing in the shop for the night. In to the trailer in the morning.
  9. TWN this morning calling for +7 and 15-20mm rain followed by 15cms of snow. What a mess.
  10. Sucks. Going for a ride tomorrow and put them in the trailer. Maybe look at one more ride up north somewhere at the end of the month.
  11. I was in Durham at 11 this morning. Good 3 inches on the ground and still coming down. Lots of wind too. Just what they needed. For our return yesterday, we went down the rail bed to Dundalk then turned towards Arthur. Lots of snow with drifting. I’ll ride again once the temps drop and the groomers can make a couple passes. Then warm up and rain forecast for middle of next week. I may sound like I’m complaining but I’ll actually am happy when we can do any riding in the south. But it is frustrating when you can see the trails getting better but the doom and gloom is always on the horizon. Especially for those of us who have a hard time finding 2 days in a row to get away. I rode 3 days in the last 5. That’s a lot for me lately.
  12. Rode from Kitchener to Walters Falls through Durham today. By the afternoon the trails were falling apart. Fields were ok but The bush trails were sparse from Mount Forest on. The rail bed above Chatsworth turned grey and slushy, carbides cutting through to the gravel. Turned off the rail bed towards Walters Falls and the bush trails were bare in the corners, rocks and ground showing. Road runnings, and there are a lot up here, we’re bare and soft. It was +4 with a bit of rain. Gonna be tough to keep these trails open through the weekend with 2 more days of plus temps.
  13. The clubs around here closed trails yesterday. Warm temps and rain. Trying to maintain the base. 👍
  14. Stayed there a couple years ago. Cabins are nice. Owners are friendly. Menu is limited but serves the purpose. Hoping to stay there again this season.
  15. getting closer and now they upped the snow to 25-30 cms. Going to be warm wednesday so likely will be less than that on the ground but it still sounds good.
  16. Now showing up to 20cms of snow so who knows.....
  17. We rode from home yesterday. Up to Alma, over to Conestogo Lake for a packed lunch at the clubhouse (doors open and heat on). Down to St Clements, back up through Elmira and home. Snow is best to the east. Alma seemed the best conditions we rode. Everything was rideable. Some of the plowed fields near St Clements clubhouse are rough yet but it will get better with more groomer passes. Plenty of wind and a bit if fresh snow made for lots of drifts.
  18. Let's hope the weather people are wrong. Currently calling for 3 days above 0 for the middle of next week.
  19. St Clements has opened some of its trails as limited. Please refer to the ITG. Base is very thin in places. Please ride responsibly.
  20. Turbo Doo posted this in the Elk Lake thread.
  21. Wing is back on for Feb 4. And should anyone be thinking of asking, No, I haven't heard of a plan for what we will do if the trails are open. Going to inquire today.
  22. You mean Bridgeport? There is way more than 7.5 cms on the ground, likely 20-25 cms. I rode it yesterday with the wife. The plowed fields are brutal, the grass fields are good , the bush trails are a sticks/snow/dirt mix. It scratched the inch and let her get a short run on the new sled but we won't be going back out until we get another 6 inches. I just don't feel the need to run garbage any more. Ya, I see this both ways. Its great to have some trails open so people can get on them but it brings a ton of traffic to trails with marginal snow coverage. The base and underlying crops get destroyed. But is it fair to the permit buyers to keep rideable trails closed while waiting for the neighbouring clubs to catch up. Its damned if you, damn if you don't. This was Schweitzer st at 4pm today. 2 blocks of trailers. My mother says it’s been trucks and trailers and sleds all weekend. She likes to see the families going out for ride. Leave your cans at home though.
  23. From what I can remember, there was a year or 2 that the Chap Club had a hard time getting any trails open. They took a bunch of flack for it. The club was talking about a collapse. There was a change over in the executive and new people came in. Volunteers started prepping the F to reopen but it had sat idol for 2-3 years by this time and the bush had reclaimed it. They kept saying "yep, its going to reopen" but by January they said "no way to get this done" and its never come back since. I have only ridden from Black Creek to Chap once but all I can remember is a ton of bush, tight and twisty, through swamps with just the odd road section thrown in. A lot of it ran the ditch just off the highway. On that trip we ran from Dunlop Lake Lodge to Chap. Stopping at Black Creek and Flame Lake for fuel. 2 brothers in our group decided not to buy fuel at Flame Lake because it was "expensive" but they never told the rest of us that they had skipped the fuel. They were on 2002ish ZRT 600 Triples. When we hit Chap they dove into the first gas station they saw to fill up. They made but were on fumes. 2 days later they both ran out of fuel 5 miles from Cochrane coming from Hearst, 9 at night, because they skipped fuel at Smooth Rock.....
