  1. I didn't notice the date until after I read it. I was sitting thinking "WTH? We had more than 12 days of trails last year. It was around a month."
  2. We went during my son's spring break, third week of March. It hadn't snowed in the town of Revelstoke in 6 weeks. We were the only people in the hotel we stayed at. The plan was to rent and ride from the hotel parking lot. Fail....lol There was no snow below 4000 feet. We had to trailer up to ride. The town of Revelstoke from the mountain. My rental vehicle turned into sled trailer puller. Note that there is no insurance coverage if you do this. There had been an avalanche the week before killing 2 sledders, burying a dozen more and damaging 50 sleds. This was where it happened, the lumpy snow is from excavating out the poeple and sleds. Note orange paint on lower left. And the warm up shack pic.
  3. Congrats. Its a great experience. My son and I went 12 years ago. I see the snow stick is bigger now.
  4. Did you check Chris's list at Sleddersworld.com? He shows Pinewood Motor Inn, Apsey Lake Resort and Lang Lake Resort as having trail access.
  5. It seems to me we ate lunch here back in 2016. Quick google search says it’s now called Iron Bridge Cafe and General Store. Trail comes to the back door. There is also a restaurant in the Redwood Motor Inn on the opposite side of the river. Trail goes right by. I would call to make sure its open. Licensed.
  6. I did the Harley thing for a few years. I was still putting more miles on my sled than the bike so I got out. It was nice to look at in the garage though. I was all set to spring order a new sled in March but now I'm thinking about keeping the Cat for one more winter.
  7. Yep, pretty dismal winter. And when there's no open trails in the south by end of January, everyone heads north and chews up the trails. No thanks. I'll wait for a window of good trails or not go at all. There is always next year.
  8. Like anything else, the hardest part is getting started. Im into other things in the shop and have some small projects to get to around the house. I didn’t plan for any sled trips this year. Maybe I’ll find time to do a couple days in February if the trails don’t open closer to home. Not looking good for districts 4,5 or 9 right now.
  9. Hard to think sledding when the grass is green. The sleds are ready, although they have been sitting for 3 months now. Permits are still on my desk. I’m not interested in travelling more than 2 hours to ride so I still have time.
  10. Gees, you guys are making me think i should have a look at my sleds or something......lol
  11. Still have my permits on my desk. Going way out there on a thin limb….lol, the OFSC would possibly be able to charge you with Trespass if they found that the permit was not registered to the owner of the snowmobile since there would be no signed agreement. Can someone please tell me why ever picture I post turns sideways now? I had to take this picture with the paper turned sideways in order to get righted. Doesn’t matter how I hold the phone, they all turn.
  12. I will agree with everyone else, bead leak. They can be weird. A month ago I went to move one of my employee's trucks and the rim was on the ground, completely flat. I filled and told him to keep an eye on it. He said it had gotten soft the week before and he filled it to 60 psi. Its now been a month and its only lost 10 psi. I had to use my tandem trailer today and found it with 2 flats. One tire on the rim. One with 15 psi. I filled them so I could use it. Tomorrow's job is to find the leaks and either repair or replace.
  13. I have a pair of mirrors that fit Arctic Cats I bought from Royal several years ago. They are a knock off the actual Cat accessory mirrors. These were never installed but there are a couple of the mount screws and well nuts missing from the box. I’m pretty they can be bought at Home Depot. Free to good home.
  14. Brand new in the box. I bought it about 4 years ago and never ended up installing. I have the brackets to fit my 2015 Arctic Cat ZR, never installed them. The brackets can be bought from Kimpex to fit other makes and models. Asking $500. I'll pull it from the box and take some pictures later today.
  15. Pics of work and such is not a problem, just trail status posts. Several years ago, we would put a post up on Facebook and email our club members to let them know when trails were open or opening, well before the ITG would be updated.
  16. What ScottyR said. As I club we were told to stop posting trail conditions on our Facebook page. You will find just about all clubs will now put up a post saying "Refer to the ITG" or watch the ITG for updates.
  17. I have a couple snowmobile covers I bought from Princess Auto that I keep around to cover sleds and bikes in the shed. They are light weight and around $50.

    Gloves.

She asks for help when she needs it. My son and I are only 1/2 mile away. And every year she says she's not going to put up as much and every year it all goes up.....lol "Well I like it all and I had the time" is all she says. Just yesterday I talked to her and she said wasn't going to take anything down until it got warmer and some of the snow went away. Well... I have a camera I monitor on her front porch and she is out there right now taking down lights....lol Yes, she has her heated gloves on.

    Gloves.

My 86 years old mother has a pair of these gloves. She used them while putting up her Christmas lights, going for walks and various outdoor chores. She has arthritis in her hands and needs the heat. She says they work great and are flexible enough for here to get things done.
  20. I agree, they are building great sleds now but I can carry a grudge for a long time.
  21. Is it over or not? Ads I’m seeing seem high. Asking isn’t getting though. maybe I just have to wrap my head around the new normal.
